Learn to read and write Persian (the Farsi of Iran), starting from the very first letter.
Shekar teaches Persian the way good textbooks do: a little at a time, in five-minute lessons, with exercises that make you look and listen closely.
• The whole alphabet: all 32 letters, alef with its hat (آ), and the vowel marks
• Every letter in every shape: on its own, and at the start, middle and end of a word
• Exercises that train the look-alike letters (ب پ ت ث) and the letters that sound the same
• First phrases and grammar: hello, how are you, thank you, and "I am, you are", with the everyday spoken form beside the standard one
• Reviews that bring back what you've learned just before you'd forget it, in about four minutes
• An optional reminder, at most once a day, only when something is due for review
• Hear every letter and word in a female or male voice, slowed down for beginners (synthetic voices by Microsoft Azure; some words recorded by a native speaker)
• Persian in a clear modern font, or the textbook style if you prefer
• Take the lessons in any order: the app suggests what comes next, and a lesson continues where you left it
• Content based on official and academic sources: the Unicode Standard, the official Persian orthography, published grammars and dictionaries
