Noppera
Blur faces, erase metadata
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Noppera blurs faces and erases the metadata of your photos and videos, right on your phone, without sending anything anywhere.
HOW IT WORKS
• Pick one or more photos or videos, or share them to Noppera from your gallery: you don't even need to open the app first.
• Noppera processes them one at a time and shows the status of each file, with a word and an icon.
• The result stays in the app: tap it to check it, then save it to your photo library or as a file.
WHAT NOPPERA PROTECTS
• Faces are masked.
• Metadata is erased: GPS position, device model, date and time of capture.
YOUR DATA STAYS WITH YOU
• All processing happens on the device. The app sends no data and has no account, no ads, no analytics and no crash reports.
• It asks to write to your photo library, to save the result when you ask, and to use the camera and microphone only when you tap "Take a photo or video": what you capture is never added to your gallery.
ITS LIMITS, STATED PLAINLY
• Noppera can miss a face (in profile, very small, blurry, partly hidden): always check the result before publishing.
• It only handles faces: a tattoo, a licence plate, clothing, a reflection or a voice remain.
• Hiding a face does not make you anonymous: the setting, the clothes or the context can be enough to identify someone.
• In a video, a face missed on a single frame remains identifiable.
Noppera is an Ombra tool, built by the BREIZHZION association for people and groups who are exposed. Same family as NoiseCrypt.
