Command British armour across five North African battlefields. Plan each move, use cover, and secure the objective in a tactical tank game for Mac.
Take command in the Western Desert.
Battle Tanks 1942 is a turn-based tactical tank game for Mac, set across five fictional North African engagements. Lead British Crusader III and Matilda II tanks against German Panzer III sections on an isometric hex battlefield.
EVERY ACTION COUNTS
Each tank has a limited action-point budget. Choose when to manoeuvre, fire, or take a hull-down position. Roads speed your advance, ruins offer cover, and rock formations block movement and lines of sight. Secure the objective or defeat the opposing force to win.
FIVE DISTINCT OPERATIONS
Fight through The crossroads, Stone gate, Desert sweep, Broken village, and Last light. Each operation has its own terrain, deployments, briefing, objective and round limit.
PLAY OR WATCH
Command British armour against the computer, or watch both sides fight in computer-versus-computer demo mode. Pause the action, change playback speed, inspect tanks, and take command during a demo.
BUILT FOR MAC
Use the mouse to select tanks and issue orders, with keyboard shortcuts for manoeuvre, fire, hull down and ending your turn. Zoom the battlefield, toggle hex coordinates, and consult the field manual. Battles save automatically so you can return to your current engagement.
Enjoy approachable tactical rules, illustrated tank units and terrain, and a clear view of each unit's integrity and remaining actions. The engagements are fictional and inspired by hex-and-counter tabletop wargames.
