SciR turns free health books and research articles into something you can listen to. Pick a book, press Play, and a clear voice reads it to you, one sentence at a time, while you cook, walk, travel or rest your eyes.
WHY SCIR
Good health information is often long and hard to read on a small screen. SciR makes it easy: listen like an audiobook, or read along while the voice marks each sentence for you. • Topics such as health research, care and policy, food and nutrition, the environment, veterans' health and public health

• Every book is free, and its licence and credit are shown

• Millions of free full-text research papers from PubMed Central and Europe PMC
• Search any subject, or start from topics like heart, cancer, diabetes, mental health, sleep, food, ageing and genes
LISTEN YOUR WAY
• Play and pause, 15 seconds back or forward, Back, Stop and Next by sentence, and every chapter
• Speed 1x or 1.25x, or any speed from 0.5x to 2x with Premium
• Keeps reading with the screen off or while you use other apps; control it from the lock screen or your headphones
READ ALONG
• Switch from Listen to Read to see the whole page
• The sentence being read is marked, and the page follows the voice

On iPad and on an opened iPhone Duo, the player sits beside the books, so you can browse while you listen.
FREE, WITH ADS, OR PREMIUM
SciR is free and shows ads. SciR Premium, for 3 months or 1 year, removes all ads and adds the five Premium themes and the advanced player controls: any speed from 0.5x to 2x and the voice's tone, every installed voice, a sleep timer, large controls, and reading text your way (size, book or plain type, line spacing, sepia and dark pages). You can also watch a short video for an hour without big ads.
