BUY BY THE POUND, BAKE BY THE CUP? NO PROBLEM
• Add each ingredient the way you buy it: a 5 lb bag of flour, a pound of butter, a dozen eggs, a 12 oz bag of chocolate chips.
• Use it in your recipe in cups, tablespoons, teaspoons, grams, ounces or pieces. Crumbtally does the conversion.
• Built-in cup weights for more than 180 ingredients. Prefer your own? Weigh your cup once and the app uses your number.
THE FULL RECIPE COST, NOT JUST INGREDIENTS
• Packaging: boxes, cake boards, bags and labels, per piece or per batch.
• Labor: enter your work time and your hourly rate.
• Overhead: gas, power, market stall fees, as a percentage or a fixed amount per batch.
• Recipes inside recipes: use your frosting, filling or crust in other recipes. Change an ingredient price once and every recipe updates.
• The cost updates as you type, with a breakdown of ingredients, packaging, labor and overhead.
WHAT TO CHARGE
• Set the selling price by profit margin or markup. Margin and markup are shown side by side, so you never mix them up.
• Save your fees (card reader, delivery app, market) and tick the ones that apply to each sale.
• Round the price up to $0.25, $0.50, $1 or $5.
• See the profit per piece, the profit on the whole batch and your real margin.
• Break-even: how many pieces you need to sell to cover your costs.
• What you really earn per hour at that price. Sometimes the answer hurts, and it's better to know before you quote.
• Already have a price? Type what you charge today and check whether it covers your costs.

Butter went up again? Update the price in one place. Recipes with a saved price show how much the cost went up and what your margin is now, so you can decide if it's time to raise your prices.
