Learn English words while you play! In DODON ENGLISH, pictures come down the screen, and you clear them by saying their names in English.
CAN'T SEEM TO REMEMBER ENGLISH WORDS?
The key to learning English words is saying them out loud, again and again. But reading word lists aloud or writing words over and over in a notebook can get dull, and it's hard to keep going.
DODON ENGLISH turns that repetition into a game. As you name pictures to clear them, you end up saying the same words many times. That's the idea: just play, and the words naturally stick.

HOW TO PLAY
- Pictures of everyday things keep coming down the screen.
- Name each picture in English, and it pops and disappears.
- If a picture you missed gets close, slide your finger to move your paper plane away.
- If a picture hits you, you lose a life. (You have 3.)
- At the end, a boss appears. Say the names of the pictures it throws to lower its health.
- Get its health to zero in time to beat the boss and clear the stage!
A game takes about 3 minutes. English beginners are welcome.
MADE TO KEEP YOU PLAYING
The more you speak, the more fun it gets.
- Name pictures in a row to build a combo, and the effects get flashier and flashier. The music builds too, and speaking out loud starts to feel fun.
LEARN WORDS YOU DON'T KNOW YET
- Grab the magnifying glass to see the words on the pictures. Read them out loud to pop pictures you couldn't name.
- After each game, check Words you missed. Tap ▶ Listen to hear a word, then say it out loud right there. Or practice them together with Practice Missed.
- Words you say in the game are saved in your Word Book with their pictures. Tap ▶ Listen to hear them.
START WITH EVERYDAY WORDS, THEN LEVEL UP
Try Stage 1 free: about 90% of its words are easy ones (CEFR-J A1–A2, beginner level). Then the Main Game and Expansion Pack move up to harder words for everyday things.
- Stage 1 and the Main Game: Zoo & Park, School, Home & Kitchen, Town & Shops, and Sea & Aquarium. 100 words per stage.
- The Expansion Pack adds 6 stages and 600 words: Farm & Forest, Theme Park, Body & Health, Offices & Station, Restaurant Kitchen, and Home Center. Up to 1,100 words in all.
- Clear Stages 1 to 5 to unlock Boss Rush: all their words, mixed together, with 5 bosses in a row.
- Three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. (Clear Hard, and an even harder hidden level opens up!)
STAGE 1 IS FREE. THE REST ARE ONE-TIME PURCHASES.
- Stage 1 (100 words) is free to play.
- The Main Game (Stages 2–5, Boss Rush, and the Hangar) is a one-time purchase.
- After you buy the Main Game, bosses you beat join your crew. Pick them as your ship in the Hangar.

- Speech recognition runs on your device. Your voice is never recorded or sent anywhere.
- Pictures, words, and speech recognition are all in the app, so no connection is needed.
PLEASE NOTE
- The game uses your microphone. Please allow access the first time.
- It's a voice game, so play where you can speak out loud.
- Your Word Book and stage clears are saved on this device and won't move to a new one.
- Choose from 11 display languages (Settings > Language). In every language, you learn English words.
- Play records are sent only when you tap Send play record: the words you said, times, and device type, never your voice. It's optional, but it helps us fix bugs and improve the game.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
- Fixed an issue where ▶ Listen sometimes used a different voice or read the word letter by letter.
- Fixed an issue where naming several pictures in a row sometimes failed to pop a picture named later.
- Fixed tutorial text overlapping the pause button, and stage names breaking mid-word on small screens.
- The home screen name is now DODON EN, except on devices set to Japanese, Korean or Traditional Chinese.
- On iPhone, if microphone audio stops and doesn't recover, a message now lets you tap to reload the app. If it happens again, you're asked to close and reopen the app.
- Other small fixes.
