Cranslate writes down what people around you say and translates it into your language, on your iPhone, without the internet.
Start a session with one tap, on the iPhone or on your Apple Watch. The iPhone hears the speech, writes it down and translates it. Each line appears with the translation first and the words that were heard below it.
WORKS WITHOUT THE INTERNET
Speech recognition and translation run on the iPhone. After a one-time download of the models for your two languages (1.5 to 2.5 GB), Cranslate works offline: abroad, in a shop, on a bus, at a station.
ON YOUR WRIST
On the Apple Watch, a tap starts a session while Cranslate is open on the iPhone. The watch shows each new translation in large text and taps your wrist when a line arrives. While a session records, the iPhone and the watch show Recording and the time.
CONVERSATION
On the Talk tab, two people talk, each in their own language. Cranslate tells which of the two languages it hears and shows each line in the other one.

PRIVATE
Nothing you hear or read leaves the iPhone. There is no account, no advertising and no analytics. History keeps the lines on the iPhone and can be turned off. Saving the audio is off unless you turn it on.

Cranslate listens 10 minutes a day for free, on the iPhone and the watch together. Cranslate Unlimited, one in-app purchase with no subscription, lifts the limit for good and stays on the iPhone without the internet.
HISTORY AND RECORDINGS
Past sessions stay in History with their time and languages. Copy or share a session as text, or delete a session or a single line. With Save the audio on, the sound of each session is kept: play it, export it as a WAV file or delete it. Export all sessions and recordings as one file and import them on another device.
MODELS
The app downloads the models for your two languages once. You can also get a model yourself: each model has its link, and a model file can be exported and imported.
WHAT IT NEEDS
- An iPhone with 4 GB of memory (RAM) and up to 2.6 GB of free space for the models.
- iOS 17 or later. For the watch: watchOS 27 or later.
- Recognition works best within a few meters of the person who speaks. Loud noise and distance lower the quality.

Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Ukrainian are heard by a new speech model: fewer mistakes, a smaller download and faster. The phone asks for the microphone in your language. Settings say which downloaded models your languages no longer use. A phone with less than 4 GB of memory is told so before a download.
