Stand where an old photo was taken and take it again, years later.
Yesterlens lays the old photo over your camera so you can line up today's view exactly: a film still at its real location, a childhood photo by the same door, an old postcard of your street. When the two views match, it takes the new photo for you.
LINE IT UP
• Three ways to see the old photo over the camera: a see-through ghost, bright outlines, or a curtain you drag across.
• Hints tell you which way to turn the camera, when to step closer or back, and when to level the phone, until it says "Lined up".
• Hands-free shutter: it shoots once the views match and the phone holds still. Prefer the button? It waits for the jolt of your tap to settle, so the shot stays sharp.
• Landscape film stills? Turn the phone sideways and the overlay turns with it.
THE SAME FRAME
• The new photo is cut to the old one's frame and turned the same way, so the pair matches exactly.
• Film stills with black bars are trimmed on their own; crop or rotate the old photo by hand if you need to.
• Lenses from 0.5× to telephoto on iPhones that have them, pinch to zoom, and a 3 or 10 second timer.
THEN AND NOW
• Compare the two with a curtain.
• Save a collage, one above the other or side by side, with your own captions like "1987" and "2026".
FIND THE PLACE
• If the old photo knows where it was taken, Yesterlens shows it on the map with walking directions; otherwise pin it yourself.
• Near the place, a compass tells you which way the old camera faced, when the old photo recorded it.
• New photos carry where they were taken (you can turn this off), and a map shows all your places: the ones still to retake and the ones done.
No accounts and no ads. Your photos and places stay on your phone; anonymous usage statistics can be turned off in Settings.
