Paste the cards you already have. Terminus asks one on your Lock Screen each time you pick up your phone, and fits every review in before your test date.
Terminus puts your own flashcards on your Lock Screen. Each time you pick up your phone, a card asks you a term. Think of the answer, tap to check it, then tap Again, Hard, Good or Easy. Each button shows when the card comes back. You never open the app.
MAKE A SET IN SECONDS
Paste the list you already have, from Notes, a spreadsheet or another app's text export. Terminus reads one card per line and splits each line at a tab, a dash or a comma. Or type the cards yourself, or say "Hey Siri, add a card to Terminus".
READY BY YOUR TEST DATE
Give a set its test date. Terminus fits the reviews of every card into the days you have left, so each card comes back before the test. Each set shows how ready you are: the share of its cards you would likely remember today.
REMEMBER IT FOR REAL
Terminus schedules each card with FSRS, an open spaced repetition model, from your four grades. Each set has two sessions: Review asks the cards you learned that are due, the one you are about to forget first, and Study asks the cards you do not know yet. A card you miss comes back within 10 minutes. A right answer moves you on by itself; a wrong one waits so you can look at it.
SEE HOW WELL YOU KNOW EACH WORD
A ring on every card shows its strength, from New to Known, and when it comes back. A card is Known once you hold it for 21 days. Each set says what is due, still learning and new. Filter a set to Due, Missed, New, Still learning, Familiar or Known, and study just those.
WIDGETS THAT KNOW WHEN YOU ARE DONE
Widgets for the Lock Screen and the Home Screen, on iPhone and iPad. Answer right on the widget. When nothing is due, the widget shows today's count, when the next cards come back, and Learn 5 more. It goes back to your cards by itself when they are due.
A SMALL DAILY GOAL
Set a goal of 5 to 30 words a day. Go past it and Terminus counts the extra. Your streak gets one free freeze each week.
CONNECT AN AI
Connect Claude, and ask it to make a set from your notes or fix your cards. Every change waits for your yes in Terminus.
FREE, WITH NO SIGN-UP
Terminus is free. Make as many sets and cards as you want. Your sets stay on your devices and in your own iCloud, which we cannot read. Only Connect an AI keeps a copy on a server, under an account with no name and no email. Terminus counts app events, such as a finished review, to make the app better.
