What’s new in Annotape 1.5: • Export transcripts: in the transcript’s More menu, save or share it as text (TXT) or as subtitles (SRT), with speakers when known. Under “Copy” it goes straight to the clipboard. • Swipe a sentence into a note: swipe a sentence in the transcript to the left, and it becomes a note at its moment (iPhone and iPad). • Sentences you save as a note now come in quotation marks. You can turn this off in Settings › Notes › Save as Quote. • Share a podcast: in a podcast’s More menu, with a link to Apple Podcasts, otherwise to its website. • Share Episode is now also in the context menu of every episode and as the action “Share” in the action bar, also as the Quick Action. • Filter in a podcast: each podcast remembers “Hide Played Episodes”, on all your devices. “Only Episodes with Notes” moved into the same menu. • Settings › Appearance is arranged more clearly, with a group of its own for the action bar. • Improved: the AirPlay picker is readable again in light appearance. When sharing, the preview shows the cover instead of a grey image, and new episodes get their Apple Podcasts link more reliably.

What’s new in Annotape 1.4: • Single episodes, without subscribing: paste an episode link into the search, for example from Apple Podcasts, a feed link or the link to an audio file. Annotape shows the episode, and one tap puts it into the Queue or a playlist. • Also in the preview of a podcast from the search: touch and hold an episode or swipe right to listen without subscribing. • New list “Single Episodes” in the Library (on iPad and Mac also in the sidebar): every episode you added on its own. If you subscribe to the podcast later, they become regular episodes of the subscription, with their position and notes. • Save for Later: choose “Save for Later” under New Episodes of a podcast (formerly “Only in the Podcast”), and new episodes stay in the podcast, without Inbox or notification. Its cover then shows grey stripes, so you spot saved podcasts in the Library at a glance. • Many more symbols for playlists: over a thousand under “More Symbols…”, by category and searchable. • Colors for playlists: give each playlist one of 12 colors, made for light and dark appearance. • Dormant podcasts: when a podcast has had no new episode for over a year, the Library shows a moon on a slightly blurred cover. You can turn it off in Settings › Appearance. • When you subscribe to a podcast again, only its newest episode goes to the Inbox.

What’s new in Annotape 1.3: • Episode covers: when an episode has a picture of its own, the player, mini player, lock screen and widget show it. Swipe over the cover in the player to turn it over to the podcast’s cover and back; the choice applies to the whole podcast. • Restore from the archive: Settings › iCloud Archive › “Read from the Archive …” brings back episodes and notes, voice notes included, that are missing in the app. • Smoother: covers appear right away as you scroll, and lists, downloads, transcript and chapters run more calmly, also while an episode plays. • The pause button in the player shows the sound level while playing: its bars fill with the audio. You can turn it off in Settings › Appearance. • Faster refreshing: feeds that haven’t changed aren’t loaded again, which saves data and battery. • Episodes of a podcast you unsubscribed from reliably leave the Inbox.

• Transcripts: In the player, the transcript follows along as you listen, with the current sentence highlighted. Tap a sentence to jump there, and search finds any word. • Transcribe yourself: Annotape transcribes episodes without a transcript on your device, in English or German. On iPhone and iPad it keeps going in the background. Optionally, downloaded episodes in the Queue are transcribed by themselves. • From the transcript: save one sentence or several as a note, create a clip, or copy them. • Searching your notes also finds sentences in transcripts. • The iCloud archive gets the transcript as a text file next to your notes. • Undo: shake or press ⌘Z to undo episode actions from the last 30 seconds. • New Notes widget: Note Now, Write Note and Voice Note, plus skip back, play and skip forward. • Help right from the app: Settings › About, and the Help menu on the Mac. • More room between the buttons of the action bar and the player; when not everything fits, the edge shows there is more. • For iPhone Duo: unfolded, the player fills the screen, with player and notes divided at the hinge, and the same for Inbox and Queue. Folding and unfolding keeps the player open, with whatever you’re writing. • iPhone in landscape: the same tabs as in portrait again. • Notifications about new episodes arrive more reliably, overnight too, without opening the app. • Smaller fixes, such as “&” in some episode titles.

• In Progress: A new collection shows every episode you haven’t finished yet. In Settings › Playback you choose when an episode counts as played. • Faster across devices: Your playback position now reaches your other devices quickly. Pull to refresh or tap “Sync Now” to get it right away. Each device can choose whether to continue episodes from other devices. • Theme: System, Light, or Dark, in Settings › Appearance. • Chapters: time left in the current chapter, and small bars that move with the audio. • Sort notes in the player: Start → End or End → Start. • Voice notes: copy the transcript into the note text with one tap and edit it there. • Action bar: All actions are visible and labeled from the start. • Mac: an “Open Player” button in the toolbar. • Report a bug or request a feature right from the app, in Settings › About. • Fixed: a crash when opening the player in the iPad app on a Mac.
