Flyteller: Flights & Airports
Boards, gates and airport maps
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New: every flight still to leave now has Flyteller’s estimate of when it will really go, and the likely reason it’s late. Free, with no account needed.
Leave light. Arrive well.
Departure boards and maps for over 4,000 airports, with places to eat, live gates, security queues and walking directions where we have them. Free, and no account needed.
YOUR FLIGHT
• Follow a flight from the board, or by its number.
• Its gate in large figures once our flight data has it, and everything that has changed since.
• A notification when the gate is announced or changes, or when the flight is delayed or cancelled, even when Flyteller is closed.
• Your timings: when to be through security, when boarding usually starts and when the gate usually closes.
• How far the walk to the gate is, and places to eat near it.
• On arrival: when and at which terminal it lands, the weather around landing, the time there, the local currency, and the ways into town.
• If a flight covered by EU or UK rules is 3 hours late or cancelled, Flyteller says what you could be owed and drafts a claim letter for you to send to the airline yourself.
THE AIRPORT
• Departure and arrival boards, with what has just changed at the top: a gate going up, a gate moving, a delay.
• Maps of the terminal with gates, food, toilets and lounges, where they’re mapped.
• Walking directions, step by step and floor by floor at airports whose corridors are mapped; elsewhere, how far and in which direction, and to follow the signs.
• Cafés, restaurants, bars and shops, with which side of security they’re on and their opening hours where we know them.
• Security queue times, live from the airports that publish them, and passport control waits at the main US airports from US Customs and Border Protection.
• Getting to and from the airport, lounges, services and terminals, with every fact linked to the page it came from.
• What you can take through security, including liquids, in the UK, Europe, the US and Canada.
ON YOUR IPHONE, IPAD AND APPLE WATCH
• A widget and a Live Activity for the flight you follow, and an Apple Watch app with its gate and countdown.
• Add your flights to your calendar, and read a boarding pass with the camera or from a photo.
YOUR TRAVELS
• A logbook of every flight you follow, with your routes on a map of the world and the distance, time in the air, airports and countries added up.
• A travel profile: your seat, meals and loyalty numbers, written once and kept on your phone.
ASK ANYTHING
Questions about air travel and airports, answered by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic. Flyteller asks before anything is sent, and the rest of the app works if you say no.
WHERE THE DATA COMES FROM
A gate shows when our flight data has it, and for some large airports it doesn’t; then the board says “gate not listed” rather than guess. Places come from OpenStreetMap, Overture Maps and the airports’ own directories. Where something isn’t known, such as opening hours, Flyteller says so instead of guessing. Times and gates can change at short notice: always check the screens at the airport.
YOUR PRIVACY
You don’t need an account, and there’s no tracking. Signing in is optional, and you can delete your account in the app at any time. Your logbook, travel profile and settings stay on your phone. Location, if you allow it, is used on your phone to find your airport and show you on the map, and is never sent to our servers. When you turn on alerts for a flight, our server keeps that flight and your phone’s notification code until shortly after it lands, so it can tell you when something changes.
IS FLYTELLER FREE?
Yes. Some screens link to other companies for airport hotels, parking, lounges, car hire, eSIMs and delay claims. Where we’ve joined a company’s affiliate programme, it may pay us a commission if you book, at no extra cost to you, and the link says so.
