Night falls on the coast and the ships are coming in. You keep the lighthouse. Turn its beam to guide every ship past the reefs and into harbour without a wreck. TURN THE BEAM Drag your finger anywhere on the sea and the beam turns to point that way. A ship in the light sails along its dotted course to the harbour. A ship in the dark stops dead. When two ships touch, or a ship hits a reef, it's a wreck. Three wrecks and the night is over. SPEAR OR SWEEP The beam's width follows how fast you turn it. Hold it still and it narrows to a bright spear that sends one ship home at full speed. Sweep it fast and it fans out wide and dim, and every ship it covers creeps along slowly. Every few seconds a storm swell rolls across the sea and pushes every unlit ship toward the rocks. Lit ships hold their place. So all night long you choose: rush one ship home, or keep the whole fleet safe. FOUR COASTS, 40 NIGHTS - Gull Point: calm seas and slow swells - Fog Sound: fog banks hide the reefs until your beam passes over them - Storm Cape: swells come twice as often - Ice Reach: ice floes drift across the shipping lanes Each night brings more ships, sailing faster. Win 3 stars with no wreck, and earn a 50% calm-sea bonus on your cargo. Your stars open new coasts, and you can replay any finished night to beat your best. THE LENS WORKSHOP Spend the cargo you bring in on lens upgrades, five levels each. Focus makes the narrow beam's ships faster. Spread makes the wide beam brighter and quicker. Anchor Light helps lit ships fight back against the swells. Max out all three to buy the Second Beam, which shines the opposite way. THE CAPTAIN'S LOG Eight kinds of ship sail these waters: the rowing dinghy, fishing smack, mail cutter, paddle steamer, whaler, tug with barge, tall ship, and the ghost ship that only shows itself in your light on the last night of each coast. Dock each one to draw its page in the log and win a cargo bonus.
