Place stations and draw lines across Taipei, Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan and Hong Kong, then watch residents choose between your metro, scooters, cars and buses. Plan a metro network on real city maps and watch a city start to ride it. The game estimates where people live and travel from real map data, and residents choose between scooter, car, bus, walking or cycling, and your metro by door-to-door time. A station in the right place fills up. A line that wanders or runs too few trains loses riders to other lines or back to the road. BUILD • Tap the map to place stations and draw lines • Extend a line from either end, insert stations in the middle, move or remove them • Stations are named automatically from districts, place names and intersections, and can be renamed • Choose heavy rail, medium capacity or light rail for each line, and set the number of cars • Undo and redo OPERATE • Set peak and off-peak trains for each line; headway follows from the number of trains and the round trip • Too few trains and peak riders are left on the platform; too many and operating costs rise • Construction has no cost. Finances are measured by margin: fare revenue against the running cost of trains, stations and track SIMULATION • Time runs continuously, with morning and evening peaks • Riding habits build up gradually, and daily ridership grows with them • Follow a train or a passenger across the network • The same network always receives the same official result STATS • Figures for the whole city, each district and neighborhood, line, station, train and passenger • Trends for daily ridership, metro mode share, margin and quality score • Quality score broken down into waiting, transfers, crowding and riders left behind • Hourly entries and exits for each station VIEW AND SHARE • Scenic view shows the city with a tilted camera, 3D buildings and trains • Create cards for a station, a train or a whole city from the stats screen, in 9:16, 4:5, 1:1, 4:3 or 16:9 CHALLENGES AND ACHIEVEMENTS • Planning challenges in every city, such as Small and Fine, Two by Ten, Easy Commute, Light Rail City, Pays Its Way and Every District, plus challenges unique to Taipei and Tainan. Conditions cover stations, lines, system type or districts served, with goals for ridership, quality or margin • 63 achievements for network design, ridership and mode share, viewable in Game Center CITIES Taipei (with New Taipei, Keelung and Taoyuan), Taichung, Kaohsiung, Tainan and Hong Kong UNLOCKING Taipei is open from the start. Other cities, medium capacity and light rail, 100x speed, map themes (Blueprint, Paper, Night) and extra line colors each unlock permanently after one ad. Each city starts with one plan, and ads can add up to three. The Unlock all in-app purchase opens every city and item, allows five plans per city and removes interstitial ads. ALSO • No timer and no budget cap • No account required; saved games can be backed up to your iCloud • Interface in English and Traditional Chinese; street and station names appear in the local language Passengers and ridership are simulated estimates calculated by the game from map data, not real ridership figures.
