Book a forward-facing seat: this Safari extension shows you in bahn.de’s seat selection which way your ICE or IC train will travel. Want a seat facing the direction of travel, but bahn.de doesn’t tell you which way the train goes? “Fahrtrichtung” shows it right in Safari, based on the planned coach sequences. In rare cases the data can still change before the day of travel – but it’s far better than no information at all! How it works: • Open the app and switch on the extension in Safari (the app shows you how) • On bahn.de, search for a connection and click “Sitzplatz auswählen” (choose seat) • Tap or click the Fahrtrichtung icon in Safari • The direction of travel appears with an arrow – for each section of the journey Features: • Direction of travel per section, including changes of direction • Shows which coach is at the front • Journey time per section • For long-distance trains (ICE, IC/EC) as well as many international and night trains • Detects your train automatically from the seat selection dialogue • German and English Privacy: the extension collects no data, sets no cookies and needs no account. More reliable when fernbahn.de is overloaded: no more endless loading, recently loaded coach sequences are remembered, and error messages are clearer. IC and ICE trains with the same number are no longer mixed up, and the app is now also listed as German-language.
