Your castle stands at the end of the road, and every season a new enemy host marches on it. Hold the wall with cards.
War & Cards: Kingdom Defense is a strategy card roguelite you can play with one hand. Place troops, towers, buildings and spells on the plots around your castle, watch the battle unfold, then pick your next card. No two runs are alike: new card offers, relics, curses and enemy hosts every time.
HOW IT PLAYS
• Each season, pick a card and place it on the board around your castle
• Merge copies of a card to level it up, and at level 3 choose its form
• Buildings earn gold, the Merchant sells cards, the Prophet brings omens
• Waves grow every season, with fog, night attacks and twin roads
• Survive to the last winter and face the boss
A LIVING BOARD
• The board turns from spring to winter: blossom, harvest, falling leaves and snow
• Lit lanes and lanterns link neighbours, districts reward sets of three
• Springs, gold seams, an old oak and ruins to clear: no two boards play alike
• Villagers walk the roads and a wagon brings the harvest home at the year's end
FOUR KINGS, FOUR WAYS TO PLAY
• The Warden: steady soldiers and shield walls
• The Ember Queen: spells, fire and burn
• The Merchant Prince: gold, mercenaries and gunpowder
• Wildroot: growth, groves and creatures of the old wood
Each king has a strength, a weakness, a special rule and their own troops, and every unit has its own body.
THE CAMPAIGN
Five acts on a campaign map, from the Border Marches to the Frozen Reach and the Sunken Crown, each ending in a boss fight: the Frost Jarl on the ice, the Tide Queen on a drowned coast and more. Every battle has an objective: win it for up to three stars. Act I is free to play.
WHEN THE CAMPAIGN IS DONE
• Conquest: climb ten heat levels with every king
• Raids: build a defence formation and attack rival kingdoms (ready-made formations, not live players)
• Weekly challenges: ten new goals every week and a Crown track with a new card back to win
• 40 badges, titles, banners, castle skins, card backs and royal looks to collect
FAIR BY DESIGN
• Act I is free
• One purchase unlocks the full game: the rest of the campaign, Conquest, Raids and the weekly mutator
• The Royal Shop sells cosmetics only (Banner pack, Castle skins, Card Backs, Supporter pack): they change how things look, never how strong you are
• Ads are optional: watch one only if you want a bonus such as double Crowns, a revive or a free reroll. Full game owners get these bonuses without ads. No banners, no ads between battles
• No loot boxes, no energy timers, nothing pay-to-win
