Outflank is a turn-based war game on a hex map. You lead one of twelve nations on a freshly generated continent and fight eleven AI rivals for the land. The rules are simple and there is one kind of soldier, so every battle comes down to where you strike from.
OUTFLANK TO WIN
Every army next to an enemy can join the attack. Hit it from two sides for +25 %, from three or more for +50 %, and from opposite sides for an extra pincer bonus. Surround an army so it has nowhere to retreat and it is destroyed when it loses. Splitting your army to come in from several directions beats one big push.
SUPPLY AND TERRAIN
Land only counts if a path of your own hexes links it back to a city. Cut a salient off and its armies weaken every turn and its mines and farms stop paying. Forests, hills and mountains make defenders tougher, and an army that stays put digs in.
A WORLD THAT READS AT A GLANCE
The board is a 3D toy diorama: pine forests and snowy peaks, savanna and palm-lined coasts, lava lakes and bridges between islands. Every hex is tinted in its owner's colour, each army shows its strength, and every coin you earn comes from a city or building you can see on the map. Rotate, pinch and pan with your fingers.
SEE WHAT HAPPENED
After your turn the AI nations move, and anything that touches your land plays back on the map with arrows, battle markers and captured flags. The war report takes you to each event.
