Eque: System-Wide Equalizer
Parametric EQ for every app
Only for Mac

Launch offer: Eque Pro is half price through November 30. One purchase, never a subscription. The equalizer itself is free, with five bands.
Eque is a parametric equalizer for everything your Mac plays: music, video, games and calls, on speakers, headphones, DACs and AirPods. It lives in the menu bar, uses the audio system Apple added in macOS 14.2, and installs no driver.
PRECISE WHEN YOU WANT IT, SIMPLE WHEN YOU DON'T
• Five bands to start, placed where they matter: a low shelf, three peaks and a high shelf.
• Drag a bar to boost or cut. Hold Option for fine control.
• Click any number to type an exact frequency, gain or Q.
• Undo takes back any change, even Reset.
• See the curve: the Response window shows the exact shape your bands make, side by side with the equalizer. Point at a band in either and it lights up in both.
• See the music: an analyzer shows what's playing, before and after your EQ.
BUILT TO BE HEARD, AND TO BE MEASURED
• Untouched when flat: with a flat EQ, audio passes through bit for bit.
• Headroom handled: auto preamp lowers the level by exactly your largest boost, so boosts never clip. An orange dot tells you if anything ever goes over.
• A fair comparison: switching the EQ off crossfades to the original at matched loudness, so you hear the difference in tone, not volume.
• Double-precision filters, stable at every sample rate from 8 to 192 kHz.
LIVES IN THE MENU BAR
Switch presets, change outputs or turn the EQ off from the menu bar. When nothing is playing, Eque steps back so your outputs can rest, and picks up again with the next sound. It handles sleep, wake and device changes on its own.
EQUE PRO, ONE PURCHASE
• As many bands as you need, plus low-pass, high-pass and notch filters.
• Import your corrections: AutoEq (ParametricEQ.txt), REW, Equalizer APO (including separate left and right channels), miniDSP biquads, and filter sets pasted from Sweep. Eque reads them the way Equalizer APO does, so a correction made for another app sounds the same here.
• A curve for every output: Eque remembers a curve for each output and switches the moment you do.
• Separate left and right EQ, and balance, for room correction, uneven headphones and uneven hearing.
• Unlimited saved presets, export as ParametricEQ or as an impulse response for convolution players.
• A global shortcut to turn the EQ on and off from anywhere.
Pro is a one-time purchase with Family Sharing. No subscription.
PRIVACY
Eque processes sound live as it plays. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and Eque collects no data. To reach every app's audio, macOS asks for System Audio Recording permission, and shows a recording indicator in the menu bar while the EQ is on. That's this processing, not your microphone; Eque never uses the microphone.
Requires macOS 14.2 or later.
