The Adventist Pioneer Library app (aplib.org) brings together the writings of the men and women who shaped the Adventist movement in one place, free for everyone.
The library is organized in five categories:
• Pioneer Authors — each author's books, with a portrait and life dates.
• Periodicals — the papers of the time, volume by volume, article by article.
• Hymnals — the hymns the pioneers sang, with the score, a recording and a player that gives you any key.
• Historical — works on the history of God's people.
• Religious Liberty — the texts written in defense of freedom of conscience.
Made for reading:
• Most books open at once: the text arrives as you scroll, with no wait for the whole book.
• The page number of the original edition appears in the margin of most English books, so you can cite precisely.
• Font size, light or dark theme, and your reading position remembered in every book.
• Highlight passages in colors, bookmark paragraphs, and come back to them from the highlights and bookmarks lists.
• Save a book on your device and read it offline.
Your way:
• See the authors as a list, as faces or on a timeline with 1844 and 1863 marked; each author's books as covers or as a list. The app remembers your choice.
• On iPad, read with the table of contents or your notes beside the text.
Made for singing:
• In a hymnal, find the hymn by number, title or a word of the lyrics as you type.
• See the score, listen to the piano recording, or play the hymn in the key you prefer, with the organist's introduction, your own tempo and a melody-only option.
Made for searching:
• Search a word or phrase inside the book you are reading: results show the passage found, with what comes before and after it.
• Search the whole library, or only some authors, books or categories.
• Quotes for an exact phrase, “-word” to exclude, and options for accents, case and whole words.
No account, no ads, no tracking. The app only downloads public texts from the Adventist Pioneer Library servers; preferences and reading positions stay on your device.
Interface in English, Portuguese, Spanish and French. The texts are in English, with translations into other languages added as they are ready.
