Mendhue: Old Photo Restore
Fix, colorize and date prints
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Bring grandma's cracked prints back. Repair scratches and fading, add natural color, and find out about when a photo was taken. No subscription.
Mendhue repairs old printed photos. Take a picture of a print, or pick a scan, and get the same photo back with scratches, cracks, creases, tears, stains and fading cleaned up.
REPAIR
Fix dust, cracks, folds, torn edges and faded tones. Black and white stays black and white, sepia stays sepia. Your original is always kept, and you can drag to compare before and after.
COLORIZE
Turn a black and white photo into natural color.
GUESS THE YEAR
Not sure when a photo was taken? Mendhue looks at clothing, hairstyles, cars and the print itself, and gives you a likely year range with the clues it used. It is a careful estimate, not a fact. Free.
SAVE IT DATED
Save the repaired photo to Photos as a new picture, dated to the year you choose, so it lands in the right place in your library.
HONEST ABOUT EDITS
Repairs use generative editing. Where a face is badly damaged it may be reconstructed, so every result is labeled and the original stays next to it.
NO SUBSCRIPTION
You get 3 free credits. One credit repairs or colorizes one photo. Buy packs of 10, 40 or 120 credits when you need more. Credits never expire. If a repair fails, the credit comes back.
PRIVACY
Photos are sent through our server to OpenAI (repair) and Anthropic (year guess) only when you tap repair or guess. Nothing is stored on our server. No account, no ads.
