Chat and call nearby iPhones on a cruise ship, plane or train, with no internet and no accounts. Messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted.
LanCall lets iPhones chat and call each other when there's no internet. On a cruise ship, a plane, a train or at a festival, open LanCall on both phones and they find each other over the local Wi-Fi, or directly phone to phone, the same way iPhones share files nearby.
NO INTERNET, NO ACCOUNTS
• Works on Wi-Fi without internet, and even with no network joined: nearby iPhones connect directly.
• No sign-up, phone number or email. No servers, no ads, no tracking.
CHAT AND CALL
• Text messages with delivery receipts.
• Voice calls with echo cancellation, mute and speaker.
• Messages to someone out of reach wait on your phone and send themselves when you're both in range with LanCall open.
EASY TO CONNECT
• Phones with LanCall open appear under Nearby. Tap Add.
• Or scan a QR code, tap an NFC tag, or type an IP address.
• Try it on your own first with the built-in LanCall Demo contact.
PRIVATE AND SAFE
• Messages and calls are end-to-end encrypted between the two phones with Apple's CryptoKit. Compare a safety number in person to verify.
• People you haven't added can only send a request. Nothing rings until you accept.
• Block and report anyone, and hide offensive words from strangers.
• Turn off "Visible to nearby phones" at any time.
GOOD TO KNOW
• Both people need LanCall on an iPhone.
• Calls ring only while LanCall is open on both phones. Without internet, iOS can't wake a closed app.
• Some ship and plane networks block devices from reaching each other. Then the phones need to be close enough for the direct link.
• LanCall can't call emergency services or phone numbers. On board, follow crew instructions and the network's rules.
