How much should you charge for a cake? Costify is a recipe cost calculator for home bakers: add what you paid for each ingredient and see your food cost, selling price and profit. It suits anyone who cooks or bakes to sell, so you know your numbers before you sell a single cake. RECIPE COST CALCULATOR Not sure how to cost out a recipe? Add each ingredient with the price of the pack: a 5 lb bag of flour, a dozen eggs, a pint of cream. Build the recipe in cups, spoons, ounces or grams and Costify converts the units for you. Tell it once what a cup of flour weighs or what one egg weighs and it remembers for every recipe. As an ingredient cost calculator it shows what every line costs, the cost of the whole batch and the cost per serving. Waste counts too: if 1 lb of strawberries loses 15% to the stems, enter 85% and Costify prices only the part you use. If an ingredient has no price yet, the recipe tells you. SELLING PRICE AND PROFIT Price by markup on cost, margin on price, a target food cost percentage or a price you set yourself. The selling price, the price per serving and your profit update as you type. A ring shows how the price splits between cost and profit. It works as a recipe price calculator and a cake pricing calculator for a home bakery or any small food business. FOOD COST PERCENTAGE AND PROFIT MARGIN Every recipe shows its food cost percentage, its profit and its margin on one screen. Set the food cost you are aiming for and Costify works out the price that reaches it. Use it as a food cost calculator and a profit margin calculator for a café, a food truck or a kitchen at home. LABOR, OVERHEADS AND TAX Your time counts. Add the hours and your hourly rate, a percentage for gas, electricity and packaging, and sales tax or VAT if you charge it. See the price with and without tax. COST PER SERVING Use it as a cost per serving calculator: Costify divides the total cost by the number of servings and shows the cost per serving and the price per serving. A dough made by weight shows its cost by weight instead. Need a bigger batch or a smaller one? Scale the recipe, check the new cost per serving in the preview and undo it if you change your mind.
