Iris is a high performance screen recorder that records to h.264. Iris leverages on-board GPU acceleration when available. It can optionally include video from a camera and up to 2 audio sources, including microphones and your computer's audio (requires additional components). LOVE This tool! Hands down my favorite screencast and video recording tool for professional use. High-quality with great customization options. I purchased Iris about 6 months ago. In the most recent MAC OS update, Iris stopped functioning correctly. It froze, the new recording screen would never appear. It was new, so I waited a few weeks and kept trying. No improvements. I uninstalled it and re-installed it. It still does not work on one of our MACs. On a second, our premium use purchase (to remove the watermark) was not restored to the app. Again, no big deal as long as it can be handled. Reached out to support, no response at all. I have received no support response, it now only works on one computer, and now can not access my purchase. Definitely a frustrating experience to see so little care taken to customer service and tech support on an otherwise excellent tool.

I don’t like this app. It gave me trouble. I tried recording things, but couldn’t find a way to view them. I clicked on the name of the recording when I had finished, tried using the finder to open it up…everything. I even dropped it into iphoto. I could watch it there, but all I saw was a blank, green screen and the audio from the recording. Then I tried to delete the application, but although it said it had deleted, Iris kept running. I tried to shut down. Iris cancelled the command. I forced shut down. When I restarted there Iris was, and my system acted like I had never deleted it. I tried again, and it finally worked. I wouldn’t download if I were you. Like I’ve heard it said before. “At least the price is right…."

This app is amazing! Once you set it up, the software is quick and easy to use. It took me a short while at first to figure out that everything was in the menu at the top (Iris, preferences) including the video destination setting, as well as on the start recording screen which even lets you customize exactly what you want to record on your screen. I enjoy how there are many formats to choose from though I did have to research the different formats when I started. At this point, this software is a lifesaver for any video project involving app demonstrations, etc...

This app is amazing! Once you set it up, the software is quick and easy to use. the thing is going great!!! i figured out how to get the audio going and i think it has amazing quality. when i get the watermark off, it looks like the best screen recorder ever. the only bad thing about the screen recorder is that i dont know how to record my voice. i am probably missing something obvious, but if anyone could help me that woyld be awesome!!!! and guys, this screen recorder DOES have sound. let me show u how to do it. ok the thing that says all audio, click it. then you will be asked to by an a application. then you will have to restart your computer to make the installation successful.
