Kixeye’s RTS powerhouse has something for any touchscreen general. With no timers to wait for, building bases is a blast, not a chore. Controlling units couldn’t be simpler, but the clever AI makes a perfect autopilot. However we choose to fight, War Commander’s stunning presentation make every battle feel like the big one.
Simply put, Fantastic

This game is a breath of fresh air. Gorgeous graphics and a legitimately fun and rewarding game to play. My only criticism would again be on the pvp matchmaking system. I'm only a rank 10, but I've only been playing for about a day or so, my advice is to make it so that low level players especially can fight against fellow new players, specifically those at a rank +/- 2 ranks or so, because it's frustrating to have to stop playing for a while due to constant repairs being made to your platoon and the cost of oil when you are essentially forced to attack a base you have little to no chance of beating regardless of your strategy. Perhaps if oil was a reward in pvp as well as it already is in campaign this would promote more pvp and also offer a more rewarding experience for those players who are more active and fighting. I LOVE the instant build times for the bases though. Waiting is very frustrating and gets boring in games like Clash of Clans and other tycoon strategy games, so I'm glad that instant build times are a feature. Just offer oil as a possible reward for pvping and tweak the pvp matchmaker system to give more appropriate matches and this game is sure to stay golden. Fantastic game to be certain.
Is this game expensive?

I never once felt that I NEEDED to spend money on this game. There was plenty of grinding involved however. Who cares about being number 1? Not like anyone is going to look at the top player and say, “Wow you’re amazing and impressive for spending $10,000. Here, take my house.” If you want to just have fun, this game isn’t all that bad. The people who spend large amounts of money are level 83 and we all know beginner players won’t be fighting them. The goal of this game isn’t to reach level 83, its to find that sweet level you like. You really could just grind for the best units at level 15 and stay at level 15 forever. You could become very powerful against other bases that are levels 2-15. The only reason you would level up is to obtain stronger units, but if you don’t want to have to grind for 2 months for 2 units, then stay at a lower level. I’ve heard that the game becomes boring after level 65 as everything becomes ridiculously expensive. I’ve had plenty of fun playing this game without having to spend money. The only reason you would spend money is if you’re impatient or you REALLY want something. But in my opinion, there is nothing worth paying for at the lower levels. So don’t spend any money when you’re a beginner. You don’t need to spend more than 1 penny to get the units you want. The trade-off is you spend a lot of your time grinding. The max level in this game is 83. I am past level 50, which took about 3 months. There’s no rush in this game. Take your time and have fun with it.
Fun in the beginning until…

I was really into this game and after burning several hours I finally came to realize that one is required to burn several more hours just to progress. 50+ battles to gain just enough resources to upgrade one facility. Any attempt on other players is in vain. Higher levels are impossible to compete with. Resources are far too scarce on lower levels. Thus, it became evident the fun of the game is determined by how much you like to repeat the same thing over and over again… and over again with no ability to unlock more combat units unless you upgrade said facilities that also requires the same amount of work just to upgrade your Command Center so that you can continue upgrading storage facilities so that you can consolidate enough resources to accomplish another facility upgrade, and the next, and the next, so you can finally upgrade that one facility required to unlock a new combative unit. If resources were not so scarce and a bit over 50% of the grind was eliminated, I’d be all over this game. However, the repetition has destroyed my desire to play. I open the game and immediately grow bored. “Oh right. That still needs upgraded to upgrade that so I can upgrade that to use the better combat service.” The game hooks you. And then it sublimely asks “How much patience do you really have? None? Well, we’ve got a store just for you.” Good game. Terrible design.
