The application most likely deserves a "5" but where my interests lie in gaming it falls slightly short. The application provides a front that is really a list of gaming occurrences that might interest the user. When the user selects a subject they end up at a website independent of this application. Consequently the information is not standardized and information provided is at the whim of the game advertiser or subject author. If this application would offer a synopsis with the basic information prior to sending the user to a website the application would be more useful. For instance listing whether the game referenced is an RPG, is a single player game, multi-player online, etc. Massive multiplayer on line gaming isn't for everyone. I, for one would like to know more about a subject before visiting the website. Otherwise I can't fault its purpose and by all means recognize it as an excellent gaming information source.

Update: I’m surprised there are so many glowing reviews for this app. It never works the way it’s supposed to. Completely unrelated articles will be grouped together as one but there’s no way of knowing that unless you view the entire group manually. Even when there’s only one article, ungrouped, I frequently see comments that have nothing to do with the article. What are they seeing that I’m not? Sometimes I’ll load the app and only about ten articles will show up even though I’m viewing “All News”. Even rebooting the app doesn’t fix it. Recently they started including Reddit posts in the article list and it’s very clear there’s nothing of value in them. Other site, when trying to load them through the app, won’t load or crash. There’s no point to this app unless you feel like IGN just isn’t reporting on enough. Now whenever it's open, at the bottom this black box says "Welcome back" and won't go away, so I can't touch any of the buttons under it. Even though I get this welcome message, it doesn't seem to be signing me on because whenever I try to comment, I get an error message. There doesn't seem to be a way to sign in or out anywhere in the app. So if you don't want any personalization or social interaction, sure this app is great. I just want it to work like it did before I updated.

Ive had this App for years and like many things in life it started off fantastic and now its unbearable. They have done zero work in the benefit of the user ( only updates to match new phone releases it seems or bug fixes ) I dare the developer to point out any upgrades that actually improved reading or given its users anything with ease of use or UI updates. Same format since I had this so many years ago…. Now that would be fine if and the key word is IF…. If the developer didnt add these insanely annoying, broken , intrusive and a insane amount of ads. Since last month I cannot finish a article or even write a comment without being placed in a inescapable loop of ads that often if not every time forces me to view another till I ultimately have to restart the app…. and when I start the app again i need to head ALLL THE WAY BACK!!!! …. More times then not lets say 9 outta ten times I cant find my way back because I will be trapped in the same loop in a endless bout just to try and freaking read or comment. Its maddening and really sad. You had a decent amount of ads between the articles and it was fine.. however at this time of writing not only as I scroll im stopped every few seconds or articles you have the gall to have adds in between articles. It seems like almost every two or three is another add that looks and feels like a article but is not…. So you force me into adds when I dont want to be and you make it even more challenging to ever reach deep into the feed. The amount of greed or desperation from this company had forced me to delete you and also recommend everyone do the same until you get your stuff together. You need us we dont need you. These updates show just how meaningless we are in the plight to monetize. I was loyal and in a span of weeks your greed has made me furious. Good bye i know this wont matter but im gonna put my foot down.

Have to click through an ad at startup, and see “sponsored stories” in amongst the real stories, but this app gets the job done better than any of the other free ones I’ve used (Appy Gamer, looking at you...). It would be nice if you didn’t have to open so many of the news stories in a browser, and if you could better categorize the content displayed, but it’s good overall. Would definitely recommend.
