Fun game, but PTW...

This is your typical base building, train troops, gather resources and attack/defend. The game is executed pretty decently compared to others in this genre. Shielding is a bit lame, as they stack in this game, but if you want to stay pera-shielded, you have to time them properly; it's more of a pain.It's pretty simple to learn and not overly complicated.The major downside to this game is that it is Pay-To-Win (PTW). Don't even expect to play this for more than a month unless you are prepared to pay or have strong friends already in the game. This game is catered to those that spend hundreds/thousands of dollars. Yes, I did say thousands. It is a money pit and if you want to compete, you have to spend. If your expendable cash is low, don't play this game.This game could be improved by getting away from the PTW style or put brackets in the game that prevents someone who is 10x your size from being able to wipe you out completely.

Solo player? Not worth it

This game is probably best played with friends, but if you’re a solo player like myself it’s no fun!There’s also some weird limit as to how many cities you can make. I maxed the tools needed to make more cities pretty quickly, which was enough for roughly 1 1/2 cities beyond the one you start with.Shortly after I made a 2nd city a group of people, obviously in s clan, swarmed to that location and the same player kept attacking my city for what seemed like forever.I kept getting attacked by random people, many of whom have 10x or more and more advanced troops, who would use their teleport item immediately after. And since I have notifications turned off it made it impossible for me to fight back.And because my cities were constantly being raided whatever few resources I had left would all go to fixing the few traps, healing the few troops, and sending out what very little I had to gather the bare minimum resources I could, which would never help because of how often I would get attacked/raided.Some of the resource requirements are ridiculous. Because of that you can’t send resources between your own cities to help recover any losses or to help advance that city. Whatever you have in that city is all you have to get by for that city. The extremely lengthy upgrade/research times don’t help either. You can send resources to allies and friends, which is useful... If you’re one of the many people who play with friends or are in an active clan.There is also no way of starting over unless you play on a different device snd presumably a different account. The reason? They don’t want people constantly starting over.Because I’m a solo player, the hit & run tactics, the seemingly endless raids, and the difficulty in recovering I have deleted the app and regret ever playing.

The game was fun at first but you are going to have to spend big bucks in order for you to place in the events that give you the game’s best stuff that you need in order to compete or just stay playing the game or protect what your money buys you in the packs they offer in-game. Ember customer service is horrible. They never get back to you and they never really have a solution for you when they finally get back to you, if they get back to you at all that is. Also they can take your account from you for any reason they want. I spent well over $10,000 and spent countless amounts of hours over the 4 years playing Empire Z and they locked me out of my account and won’t give me a reason as to why and ember won’t answer the 20-30 emails I have sent them since the lockout happened. SAVE YOUR MONEY & TIME!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD or SUPPORT THIS GAME!!!

Needing a nickname is dumb
I honestly enjoyed it for a long time. The problem is they stopped everything but the servers in game. Ops stopped years ago, events don’t give any good or new rewards and they just repeat every week to infinity, there’s no room for new players because power creep is ridiculous, the in game currency store doesn’t reset anymore so once it’s all bought that’s it, there’s worthless currencies such as dna in the game that after you buy everything you can purchase with it it’s worthless and just stacks up now, no new leaders in years, and I could keep going. Just pay attention to your game or shut it down dude, what’s the point of playing it at this point besides your alliance family and friends in the game anymore? They are literally all that keeps me playing, the fact that I enjoy playing with them.
