Fantastic trip journal

Not only have I use this app on numerous trips, but a number of friends have adopted it as well. What is so cool is that you can do a trip with a beginning date and the ending date and every day of the trip you can post 10 photos and two videos. The top shows your progress on your journey and where you’ve been. You control the friends that will follow you and be able to read your journal and see your photos. Penguins is a great way to remember where you were, what you saw, who you met, and what you ate. Nothing is more frustrating and getting home and than having a mishmash of pictures which are hard to assemble chronologically. It’s also frustrating when you go to restaurants and take beautiful photos and then forget what restaurant it was and which day you ate there. As an added bonus, if you decide to make a picture book of your journal, it’s never easy to do.

I took a solo trip down the east coast and created this private digital space to log my travels. I invited people to follow along every step of the watt. They couldn’t wait to see my daily entries. The one evening I didn’t post I received calls checking to make sure I was ok. I now have pictures and details of the entire trip. I also ordered the book. It is absolutely amazing. The attention to quality and detail has created a life long treasure. I love this app and also the book they created for me. I highly recommend you log your next trip with us app. It is really special. I only wish I could attach a quick video of my book so you could see it!

I love how easy it is to add photos from any photo folder on my iPhone and the interactive map. We haven’t tried the printed books yet, but it sounds amazing. Our family and friends have found it hard to see our travel log and the settings can be a little confusing so we only have one family follower who has been able to figure it out, so we keep a separate shared iCloud folder for everyone else. We also had a friend who was added to someone else’s trip (mistakenly) and because we followed her there was no way to unfollow that particular random person’s trip to Germany 🤪… so that was frustrating for a bit. Otherwise it’s great! I especially like that I can add photos as a draft even when we have a poor signal and add text and upload them later. ❤️

Easy to Use, But Blah Output

The app was pretty easy to use, but when it comes to sharing a video, there 2 big negatives: no control of music used and no slideshow of photos. The semi-flyover map showing where you went is pretty cool, but I really would have liked for it to zoom in on the footprints, and show off the photos I meticulously spent time choosing and uploading, and I would very much like to choose the music myself. One other technical point: when we upload the photos, it gives us a chance to use the photo and location from the photos, but if we discover that we unintentionally added a photo, and remove that photo, it doesn’t offer to adjust based on the remaining photos. So, you end up with a footprint out of chronological order, and in the wrong location. The only way to fix it is to manually adjust the footprint timestamp.

Hi Claid, no travel tracking app on the market offers real free configurable photo slideshows. There are other apps for that only. We are the only ones to offer flyover videos travels world wide. When you add photos to a footprint, tap on them for a menu to use the location and date of them. Still you are subtracting 2 stars and therefore 40%!!! of your rating? Please rethink, we are working hard to offer the best app we can. Best, Tobias
