It's way better than Acrobat

I'm an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber for other applications, so Acrobat Professional is included. However last month after the forceful switch to incorporating AI into Acrobat by Adobe (beta version, no less), I found a simple alternative. I use the stamps and highlighter. I miss being able to flip or scroll through pages instead of having to push to the next page.PDF Professional is great. Another miss is the option to view a ruler. Maybe I haven't found it yet, but I use that on a regular basis.

I am very pleased with the ability to manipulate PDF files, expecially creating new PDF through combining, or spitting out pages for existing documents. I can't give half ratings, but I would give a 4.5 because it takes a bit to learn some of the controls, but once figured out, they work really well. I find it better than Adobe in that it's a one time payment for the Suite with so much more control than that supposed free Adobe reader, which was coming up looking for me to pay to install. If I missed the "free" version, then so be it. There are only a few things I will use with Adobe, only while they are free. Meanwhile, I am an Apple user and video editor, I don't want to ever use Premier Pro again, or ever learn After Effects. I have Final Cut Pro X and Motion for my editing. Adobe has gotten too big for themselves, and not user friendly.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been using this for a long time now. There is a lot to love about it, however, there is a lot to dislike. For instance, with Adobe Pro, I can edit text (delete, delete and retype, change) on an existing digital PDF. You cannot with this. Don’t be fooled! Also, what the heck is going on with the highlight text feature?? That is WAYYYY off. When I try highlighting a word, it’ll select the word or sentence ABOVE the text where my cursor is. I’m quite sure that’s now how you intended it so y’all need to look into that, because I’m noticing others bringing it up too. That is the biggest of my complaints is its editing features (or lack thereof). If the great folks who created and support this program want to chime in and produce some solid proof, proving otherwise, I’m ready to see it. Like a How-To video would be terrific.

I purchased this app because I needed to highlight documents to send to students. Nothing fancy, just highlight. When I started to do this, I quickly ran into problems. When I contacted support, they told me that I needed to buy another version (PDF reader pro) to identify the text on the document first, then I can highlight. That is an additional $60. They said it was a “scanned document”. It was not. It was a pdf that I downloaded. I am very disappointed that this basic function was not a part of the $30 price, as it is advertised to do so. I believe this product is misleading, despite the great reviews. A day later, they contacted me with a free way to fix the problem I was having. I appreciate the communcation and the help solving this. I have updated my review to reflect this. Thank you.
