A beautiful, minimalist MTG counter for 1-4 players with a clean interface, deep customization, and built-in dice rolling.
Mutility is a refined and customizable Magic: The Gathering life counter for up to 4 players. Designed for reaching across the tabletop, it features easy-to-tap counters and easy-to-read life totals so you can focus on the game—not the screen. Decide who goes first with Mutility’s beautifully animated dice rolls.
To decrease life, tap the left side of a player’s life total; to increase, tap the right. Tap and hold to continuously increase or decrease life.
A one-time in-app purchase unlocks all features of the app:
* History: An editable record of all life changes and when they occurred. Use it to settle disputes and fix mistakes.
* Secondary counters: Add a counter for poison, energy, wins, or Commander damage.
* Customization: Colors, player names, counter layouts, starting life totals, and more.
* Advanced controls: Change the long-press life increment, enable two-finger tap for lifelink or extort, and more!
I've been using this app for about a year, and I believe that it is the best life counter app available on this platform. This app works for two, three, and four players, and the dice roller is a quick way to determine who goes first. The in-app purchase isn't necessary, but it does add many features for customization. Particularly, the sub-counter option is great for counting infect counters or commander damage if you are playing EDH. Unfortunately, it looks like only one sub-counter can be used at a time (so you can't track commander damage from multiple players, for instance). Custom counter coloring and name settings make it very clear whose life is whose. It is very easy to make contact with the app creator. If I had suggestions for improvement, they would be mostly for offering 5+ player support and simultaneous sub-counters. Maybe some more freedom with color selection too (like custom colors from a color wheel/hue instead of from a pre-selected list).
Best life counter
GoldenFlyerTCG
My friends all have different life counters, but this one is the best of the lot. Some have even switched from theirs to this one. The colors are easiest to read here, dice rolling is an amazing feature, the secondary counters are great. The only thing I can realistically think of to improve would be having multiple alt trackers for each player. Even just one more (total of two mini trackers per player) would be awesome.
Must-Have App for any MTG player

This app has it all: track your life, manage counters (energy, poison, etc.), and see your game history. It will allow you to spend less time tracking, and more time strategizing. It's perfect for 1v1 as well as Commander. The developer is also very friendly and responsive. They were quick to fix a bug I had discovered upon emailing. Get this app and you won't be disappointed.
Changed my life
thezisko
This app literally changed my life. I can now count my life so much better than before. It’s the difference between having to hunt for all of your food and enjoying a grocery store. The developer is amazing and there’s literally no bugs at all. The only thing I’d want is airplay support and possibly AR features, so you can see life in real life, possible tap on camera view to take life? Amazing well made
Minor bug fixes.
If you like using Mutility, please consider reviewing it in the App Store. It really helps!
