As the name implies, FishPhone turns your smartphone or tablet into a fully functional underwater camera monitor. Now anyone with a smartphone or tablet will get a color /black and white video image delivered right to the palm of your hand. Using Wi-Fi signal technology to create its own “hotspot”. You can share your video signal with as many friends as you like or password protect it just for yourself. You don’t need cell phone coverage to use it, the FishPhone works anywhere in the world. To use the FishPhone App you must connect to an existing FishPhone Camera Transmitter or purchase one for yourself. The FishPhone Camera System (#FP100) is a stand alone, fully functional, smartphone controlled system that allows you to record video or still images and easily send it off to your friends in an e-mail or text. The FishPhone Camera System comes with a unique holder and battery pack system that makes it easy to carry and manage 50 feet of cable. The portable FishPhone camera pack system can power your FishPhone for six hours between charging. The underwater camera used in the FishPhone system is a Color/ B&W camera that automatically shifts from color to black and white when light conditions are limited to increase display contrast.

Works well, good graphics interface with my phone and IPad, has good range with the wifi. The IPhone app works with my IPad just fine. I just purchased my Vexilar camera and have not taken it out fishing yet, but have used the camera unit in the house. My camera unit has depth markings on the cable so you can get a decent reading of how deep you are.

I had zero technical issues with this app until I updated it 5 minutes ago. I'm using an iPad 2 running the most up to date iOS. Now when I open the app I cannot hit the "Agree" button on the initial page. My first thought upon using the app was "why do I continually have to hit agree on this screen. Why can't it be EULA'ed and one and done. Whatever. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I HAVE A MAJOR ICE FISHING TOURNAMENT STARTING THIS WEDNESDAY. Consumers pay for a product, that product should work. End of discussion. I cannot believe this app update was pushed out for consumers and wasn't tested on the major operating systems.Edit 3/6/14Was told the update would be fixed within a week - still doesn't work. Will be sending this back for a full refund. I should have known it would have ended up being junk the minute I looked at the U/I and seen that it looked like a 8 year old coded it.

Can't click the green "I Agree" button, therefore, can't use the app. Disappointed to say the least.While I understand that supporting older devices is not a priority, Vexilar and their developers need to realize that not everyone is going to take their newest WIFI-enabled devices out on the ice or water with them. This seems like a perfect chance to use my "long in the tooth" device, but can't do it if the software end of things falls short.I look forward to having this resolved very soon so that I can try it out this ice season!

Does what it says, it's a nice app but you need the fish phone. Could use a something that says what direction the camera is facing and depth would be nice.

This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. Many bug fixes and under-the-hood upgrades and improvements.
