This is a great 3D STEP data file (.step or .stp) viewer. STEP format (ISO 10303) is an ISO standard for 3D data exchange. It is widely supported by almost all 3D CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM applications including CATIA, Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, NX, ProE (PTC Creo, ProEngineer), etc.
The app provides many 3D features including rotating, panning, zooming in/out, changing rendering color, choosing surface or wireframe rendering mode, etc. It also provides you information about your files, for instance, the file size, the height, width and depth of your model, total surface area, total volume, etc.
The app supports loading multiple models at the same time so that you can view them together. The files don't need to be in same data format. Cons: Long load times;Lack of tools common to other modeling programs;Clunky overall interface;Expensive for what you get;Sectioning involves manually entering a measurement rather than a draggable tool.Pros: Lets you open and view .step files.Summary: There are not a lot of .step viewers on the Mac, so this program gets 3 stars for simply existing. Not a ringing endorsement, but better than nothing due to the lack of competition.

This program opened up my .stp file just fine. The rendering colors are nice. Removing parts to look inside is easy. I can measure distances. There’s a bunch of other functionality I may never use. If your in a pinch and need to view step files, and don’t mind spending $24, This will work.

Very very basic viewer. Color rendering and wire frame mode are the only options. As best as I can tell you can’t have 2 files open at the same time. Loading time is very slooooow. At US$ 9.99 it’s over priced. Should go for US$ 4.99. Not recommended

It is a simple STP file viewer and works as intended. I just downloaded a couple of STP files for connectors and was able to see them. However, it is not perfect. One model of a rubber dome was represented as an eight-sided polygon instead of perfectly round.Also, it would be nice if the app can provide some way to get an idea of dimensions, e.g. perhaps show a plane with grids on it, with an option to specify grid spacing.Nevertheless, I would recommend this app.
