YOUR RECORDINGS ON EVERY DEVICE Your own recordings now travel through iCloud to your other iPhones and iPads. It is on in Settings, and turning it off or signing out never removes anything from this phone. SOUNDS BACK ON FOR A CRY An optional setting. After the sleep timer has faded out, Shwssh listens for crying for up to four hours, and if it hears your baby the same sounds fade back in with the same timer. It listens on the device and records nothing. In the morning the timer balloon and a little bubble in the pasture show how many times it happened and how each one went. It can miss a cry or hear one that isn’t there, so it isn’t a baby monitor. A NIGHT LIGHT FOR FEEDS The moon button on the player fills the screen with a dim, warm glow. Drag to make it brighter or dimmer, tap to turn it off. A WIDGET FOR BEDTIME A new widget puts on a starter mix, or your last mix, with one press. The widgets now look like the player, with the timer's balloon beside the pause button. SMARTER AT NIGHT The lock screen card waits for bedtime, and after about five nights learns when bedtime is in your house. Battery saver now starts on, and you can change it in Settings. MORE ROOM Turn your iPhone on its side for the player and your sounds side by side. iPad shows both at once, and Shwssh is ready for iPhone Duo, open or closed. ON YOUR WRIST When your phone is not nearby, the Apple Watch app’s Play button starts one of its own sounds. A NEW FELT ICON Stitched in purple wool for October.

SPOOKY TIME Through October the pasture can dress up for Halloween: grey hills, pumpkins in the pines, bats on the mobile and the sheep in costume, each with a trick-or-treat bucket. It only happens if you say yes, and a tap on the sign at the top of Sounds or Settings puts it away again. ELEVEN NEW SONGS Six hummed lullabies, and five cosy-spooky ones for October. Wordless and slow, and made to loop all night without a seam. ASK SIRI "Start Shwssh", "Play Light Rain on Shwssh", or any of your own recordings by name. Shortcuts and Spotlight know them too. CONTROL CENTER, STANDBY AND FOCUS A Control Center button for your last mix. On the charger in StandBy, the pasture sits behind the controls and dims at night. A Bedtime Focus filter can have your mix ready when you open the app. RECORD YOUR WAY Hold the mic, or tap once to start and again to stop. A new take plays as soon as you save it and waits at the top of My Sounds. NURSERY VOLUME LIMIT A new setting keeps every sound at half its full volume, however high the slider goes. Softer is kinder for small ears: keep the phone across the room, never in the cot. EVERY SHEEP COUNTED Settings now keeps count of every sheep that has jumped the fence on your phone. The train, the boat, the whales and the sirens arrive and leave with their sounds instead of appearing out of nowhere. EASIER ON THE BATTERY The pasture slows down in Low Power Mode and when the phone is warm, and rests sooner once the sounds are on. A new Battery saver setting keeps it that way all night. Left alone, the pasture now winds down a piece at a time, the last sheep jumps, and it goes to sleep with the night's count on the gate until you tap. FOR EVERYONE VoiceOver reads the widgets, the lock screen, the watch and the volume sliders. Increase Contrast and Reduce Transparency are respected. Every screen, widget and Siri phrase is now in all seven languages.

Shwssh now goes where the phone does not. WIDGETS A widget on the home screen shows the mix you are playing and starts it again with one press, without the app ever coming to the front. On the lock screen, one glance says what is on and how long is left. A CARD WHILE IT PLAYS The lock screen carries the mix and one button, counting down to the fade. No unlocking, no hunting for the app at three in the morning. APPLE WATCH A remote for the phone when the phone is in the room, and seven sounds of its own when it is not. THE ANIMALS HAVE NAMES Foster, Holly, Tyler, Annie, Ella and Finn, and Penny, Asher and JuJu besides. Each has a framed portrait, and each turns up somewhere of their own in the pasture: the bear in the seam of the hills, the otter down by the water. WHALES IN THE BAY They surface at their own depths now, each behind the run of water it belongs to. FIXED The sleep timer holds when you pause, instead of running on without you. Save and Discard on a new recording were sitting behind the tab bar. Larger Text works throughout, and the words over the pasture are readable on a snowy night.
