Ratings and Reviews
Needs a teaching mindset, not a miss and fail mindset
I wish if you got the answer wrong it would pause the game, give you the correct answer for you to study for next time, and then you could unpause and continue instead of immediately failing after one missed question. However, I like the simplicity of the game, no frivolous distractions.
Frustrating and Discouraging
I downloaded this app to try and help my first grader practice her math facts in a fun and engaging way. I was surprised to see that there really aren’t many good options out there at all for math game apps for this age range, at least not ones that come without a recurring subscription. I find it ridiculous that, even when playing on “Children” mode, all it takes is one error for the game to be over. This is super frustrating and discouraging for a perfectionistic six year old who gets stressed out by making mistakes. After I paid for both upgrade options, she lost interest after only a few minutes, because she couldn’t make it very far without the game ending. And paying for the upgrades doesn’t remove the ads either, which is usually standard when paying for an app that starts out free. This could be a good app, but unfortunately I can’t recommend it as is.
What I was looking for
If you’re looking for a good basic math game for kids this is it. Worth the 99 cents.
One feature request: ability to have the math equations vertical like flash cards instead of horizontal.
