Don[t hook. up without it!!If you live in a totally wireless (except 240-volt AC power) environment, only cellular and satellite, well, .... you can imagine. About network difficulties I know a LOT. This app helps a LOT.Does exactly what it promises with no fuss. Transparent. Always there. Gives you your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses for each active connection, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth or Thunderbolt. I have had this through several versions of macOS including the present 11.1 Big Sur, always with five star results.

This is a great program, and for the most part it does what it says it will do. However, on all of our Mac computers (Mac Pro desktop), Mac Studio, Mac Pro (notebooks), we are constantly getting the message "You are connected to Ethernet, but no Internet!" -- which is untrue and needlessly worrisome. We ARE connected to the Internet on all those machines. But we still get the message. I wish the developer would fix this error. Running Ventura 13.0 everywhere. [After writing this I received a note from the developer who says they are working on fixing the problem. It's great to see an app developer so dedicated to their product.]

Easily accessible network info

Took a while to fix crash at startup but it is working now. Always shows correct network device in use when ethernet and wifi are enabled.----- Original review -----Based on the reviews I figured this would work but it consistently crashes on startup. Submitted a ticket at the beginning of May with the crash report. Supposedly fixed but 2 months later the fix hasn't been released. Maybe it would work if the update was released.

Required app if you use Ethernet off a hub

This app works as advertised.For whatever reason, on some Macs (such as my MacBook Pro 2015) that have no built-in Ethernet, the Mac OS does NOT honor the order you set in system preferences. So even though I tell it to use Ethernet before using WiFi, it won't do that sometimes.So to prioritize Ethernet, I have to rearrange the order (sometimes giving it backwards instructions works!). And without this utility, I'd have no idea whether Ethernet or WiFi is being used.The simple thing to do, of course, is keep WiFi off most of the time. But sometimes Apple wants you to have WiFi on for other reasons, such as using Apple Watch to unlock your Mac.The annoying hassle on Mac OS related to Ethernet is made bearable by this app.
