I’m into my second month of no stress, almost passive learning, of French. I had intensively studied months before with another very popular online language platform that omits any practice of pronunciation, which in French is essential, for just basic communication. Mosa, from the start focuses on aural/oral skills and because of this I am really learning how to understand and communicate. Being able to identify the sound of the word with it’s written form is essential particularly for French, which is most decidedly not phonetic.I’ve just started a mini-series, L’homme sans nom, which presents and reviews targeted vocabulary and phrases that promise to build to achieve good comprehension. (MosaLingua backs this up with a money back guarantee. So they are serious.) I am very enthusiastic about this because in all of my decades of teaching and studies, I know that the first real and significant goal of comprehension is achieved. It is part of the innate process of language acquisition. I also want to add that with the few times I have had to contact MosaLingua, either by email or chat, they have always been extremely prompt and effective in resolving issues or doubts. This, when tech increasingly is turning to bot responses or endless wait times, is so important. I am so great full for direct communication with a human being. I’m getting the idea that MosaLingua understands the power of the internet as a resource for online learning without it changing the focus from the real world, where language actually happens in original form, instead of hooking you into say a tech game or VR.

This is my most used app. I credit MosaLingua with my rapid improvement of my vocabulary. I find it easy to use and flexible. I love it that YOU get to decide what you want to study. It’s easy to say “don’t show me this word” or add your own flash cards. I find their method of teaching you a card, which includes exposure, comparing your own recording to the teacher, spelling, and rating difficulty to be very effective.Here is my most important critique: MosaLingua holds your flashcards hostage. What I mean by this is that the app won’t allow you to review “memorized” cards except through the timing through their Spaced Repetition equation. They limit you to review no more than 50 words per day. You can go in an look at your memorized words (in a clunky, 1990s way), but you can’t force it to allow a longer review session or a review session with words you have memorized. I KNOW there are words it thinks I have in long-term memory that I don’t. They only option is “hands free mode” which shuts off the second your phone goes to sleep.

My husband and I have tried to learn French from other apps and we were never successful. But this app is so innovative and has so much content we believe we might actually accomplish learning the language. The free app is excellent but the Premium version takes it to a whole other level. My husband got it and it has worked perfectly. When I set up my account with my Apple fingerprint I did something wrong and I had multiple problems. This had nothing to do with the app it was entirely my fault. The support team was amazing. They sent so many emails to tell me what to try. I am technically challenged and sometimes was able to make it even worse! They were extremely patient and kept working with me until it was fixed. This was over a period of time and took 20 emails. So patient. I love this app and am so thankful I can take full advantage of all it has to offer. If I could I would give the app 10 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and the support team 20!B Wells

I gave up on Spanish after years of study. Decided to try Italian,but this time using my ears as much as possible. So far I can understand spoken Italian better than I ever could understand Spanish. I could read Spanish very well at one time. However, when attempting to communicate with a Spanish only speaker, it was just like Mark Twain’s quote, they had no clue how to speak my Spanish. MosaLingua gives the opportunity to use the ear predominantly. The app is beyond belief and I’ve tried many. Including Rosetta,Assamil,and several off brands,for Spanish, they provided intense sleeping opportunities as a beneficial side effect. With MosaLingua, you can go fast enough to stay motivated. We’ll see in one year if I can actually understand Italian movies, if so I’ll circle back to Spanish.
