Awkward workflow, buggy operation, but hey - it looks pretty
EliasBo42
I spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to use this. Kitchy features that are supposed to make things easier get in the way of simple operations like chaging the duration of a subtitle. There’s an “Audio” menu with nothing in it. The tool tip popups give keyboard shortcuts that are inaccurate if any shortcut appears at all. These are the details that I would shrug off if this app were reasonably priced at $5 or less. At this price, app developers are held to a certain standard. These guys can’t hang. Hire some real filmmakers or professional developers before you go into this price range.
My Go-To for Editing Subs

I’m a non-pro user with occasional subtitle needs, but I did investigate and try all the apps that got decent reviews and this one is the clear winner. One special thing I’ll mention is that I don’t need to read tool tips or click a lot of “Got it!” popups to learn how things are done because the interface makes it obvious. That matters because I don’t edit subtitles frequently enough that I’m gonna remember any quirky workflows. So I can’t be re-learning everything each time. With this app there’s nothing I need to re-learn every time.
Paid Version doesn't work

I downloaded the trial version. Everything worked fine except allowing me to save the finished modified video. Then I paid for the full version on the Mac App Store. Now it won't let me open any videos. It keeps nagging me for write permissions to the folder. I tried everything I can think of, google, and tricks I use in my technical employment. Nothing lets me edit videos with the paid version. I'm getting my money back!!!
The best subtitle app for the Mac I’ve found
firstplacetrophy
I tried many different subtitle apps over the course of a week and this one was by far the best. It has a great interface that is minimalistic while still provided all the necessary tools I needed to sync subtitles to the movie. It also lets use embed the subtitles into the mp4 after you are done which was not possible in other apps I found.
• German/French/Italian Localization is now available!
• Fix/Shift/Single now use symbols to clarify what they actually do.
• Fixed: Transscribing did not work for some Audio Tracks
• Fixed problems with the Audio menu
