Swipe to cross tasks out, keep a Today list across all your pages, use up to 50 pages, and lock private pages with a PIN.
TaskCat is a simple to-do list you run with your thumb.
Swipe right to cross a task out. Swipe left to bring it back. Swipe right again on a crossed-out task to delete it. Tap a task to edit it, and hold its handle to drag it into a new order.
TODAY
Swipe left on any open task, from any page, to add it to Today, and see all of today's tasks together on the Today page. The app icon badge shows how many of today's tasks are still open. You can turn the badge off in Settings.
PAGES
Keep separate lists on up to 50 pages, including Today. Give each page its own name and pick its background from 30 designs. The page list shows every page with its open tasks; tap one to go there, or drag pages into the order you like. Move a task to another page from its edit screen.
IPAD
On iPad, pages sit side by side, as many as fit your window.
HANDY TOOLS
- Mark a task as urgent.
- Shake your iPhone to sort a page: urgent tasks first, then today's, then the rest, with crossed-out tasks last.
- Recycle uncrosses a page's crossed-out tasks, so you can reuse a list such as a shopping list.
- Trash deletes a page's crossed-out tasks.
- Cut, copy, paste and insert tasks while editing.
- Attach a photo to a task with the camera.
- Email a list with the Mail app.
PRIVATE PAGES
Protect any page except Today with a PIN. If you turn on Intruder Photos, TaskCat takes a front-camera photo each time someone enters a wrong PIN and shows it to you after your next unlock. Intruder Photos are off unless you turn them on.
YOUR TASKS STAY WITH YOU
No account, no ads and no tracking. TaskCat never uploads your tasks or photos. A list is emailed only when you choose to, through your Mail app. To show a red dot on the Info button when there is news, TaskCat checks a small file on boxcat.ai at most once a day; nothing about you or your tasks is sent.
A short tutorial shows you the gestures the first time you open TaskCat, and you can open it again from the ? button.
This app is not only well designed it's also adorable. The functionality of it is wonderful and it's definitely organizes your to-do lists, but it freezes. A lot. I also had the free version of this app and it asked me if I would like to donate to the app and I said yes (because it's worth a couple bucks for sure!). But it took me to the App Store and just had me but this version. Then there was no way to move all my lists over; I had to do them all manually. Which seemed silly considering they are the ones that prompted me. But again if they could fix the freezing, this would be a perfect app.
Great standalone App

It is a really great app. I like the recycle feature and the today feature. A couple of things I would suggest are:1. Online access (web browser) to the list so that I can change things from my computer at work.2. Be able to share lists with other Taskcat users.3. Be able to batch recycle list items. For example, I have certain items that I always get from Costco that I put on a separate list but will drag onto Today when I do my shopping day. At the end of my trip, my items are crossed out and if I delete them using the trash icon they get deleted from the Costco list. If I hit recycle they get uncrossed but remain in the Today list. What I want to do is delete then from today but keep them in Costco list for future use.
My go-to app
Kickin' heels
After only one day I can see this will be my fave list app. I was using apple notes for grocery lists but it was cumbersome because my list would get buried in all my notes. In the past I used the fancy project management apps but too much work for simple stuff. TaskCat is the purrfect blend of simplicity and usefulness. It lives up to its claims!
Great!

Ok I'm impressed! I thought maybe the reviews were too good to be true but figured it's worth a try since it's free. It's FANTASTIC! Easy to use but also has tons of intuitive features, and I love the background themes! The shake feature is brilliant! I happily paid the support amount even though it's a free app. :)
