Fun game but had Bugs that caused resets several times. It was hard to click on items and pick them up without pressing many times. Also on the pier you should not be able to put the rope on the statue and door before you pick up the saw handle. The game was challenging which was good. If items didn’t have to be clicked on multiple times and the saw was accessible “After” the rope was attached to the statue, I would have given this game 5 stars.

Thank you, Elephant Games, for another in the enchanting Surface series! I am really impressed with the quality of this game so far! Are you a fan of the movie, The Purple Rose of Cairo, in which the Hero comes into the actual theater through the movie screen to carry on a romance with a human woman in the audience? That is similar to the premise of this exciting game. You are tracking Jane, who was carried off by a movie character in that fashion. What a great mystery! As with most Elephant Games, the Hint, Skip, and Transporting Map features work quite well. I love collecting the little jeweled flowers in the Surface series. Sometimes they are merely stuck on a letter, or they may seem like a natural part of the scene. And there are usually two or three per scene! Items in Inventory are well labeled, and usually easy to obtain. There is not a "tapping" problem with these Elephant Games, as sometimes happens with other vendor games. I love the humorous comments, such as the movie character who ducks to avoid a spear, and remarks, "Hey, I got tired of always being killed." My favorite part of the game so far was creating a 50s style pinball game of King Kong. Your task was to rearrange the flippers and other pinball parts to land your ball in the hole. I LOVE pinball, so this was exciting for me. I may have to look up this puzzle in the Extras section, and replay it a few times! For an interesting new twist on mysteries, buy this game while it is on sale. You will be pleased and entertained!

Do NOT buy this game until they have an updated version. I have tried playing this game 3 different times, because every time I came back to it, it had reset my progress. Ugh! I do a lot with my iPad, so I can't sit for hours playing one single game without getting out of the game to do some serious tasks occasionally. I mean, come on, these are called "casual games" for a reason; so you can play them casually, whenever you find time, and come back later to play more!I just spent a buttload on BF games with the Memorial Day sale; and now I regret doing so. I hate when Big fish does this, rushes a game to iOS but doesn't thoroughly test it (and it happens far too often so they can have their "new game every day" slogan).

I played this game when it first came out. It crashed, but kept my place. Now, I crashed twice when doing the HO scene in the room with the popcorn maker. Open the cabinet, find all the objects and CRASH, so I needed to start over. The hint button tells you if you need to go to a new location and it allows you to teleport there. There's a lot of unnecessary back and forth, like most of these games. Most moves are pretty logical, but not all. You'll need the hint button. The games are different, at least the pinball game was. I'll keep this on my watch list for a sale price and to see if they fixed the crash problem. I don't consider the intro price reasonable. And I certainly won't buy a game that crashes
