Atlas is a simple but powerful GPX reader.
Create your own maps
Plan your travels, create a restaurant wish list or simply log all cities you've ever visited. It's as easy as creating a new map and start adding places. Add notes to describe a place or get directions from your location. Since all maps are saved as a GPX-file, it's easy to open your maps on other devices, like a handheld GPS.
Share a single location with your friends or share your entire map.
Easily import GPX files from the web, iCloud Drive, Dropbox,...
All your maps are saved in iCloud Drive (if enabled) and are available on all your other iCloud Drive enabled devices. If iCloud Drive is not enabled, maps are stored locally and available via iTunes.
Atlas has mapcode built in. Enter a mapcode in the search field to go to its exact location or get the mapcode from a location by adding a pin. Both regional and international mapcodes are supported.
Find places or locations with words, GPS-coordinates or mapcodes.
Atlas is optimised for iPhone X, iPad Pro, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and supports keyboard shortcuts.
- Added support for the latest iOS devices
- Fixed an issue where some files couldn't be opened from the Files app
- Improved privacy by removing third party Crash Data and Statistics plugins
Ratings and Reviews
Editor NOT part of the app
I bought the app because the intro line said it was a gpx viewer and editor. I needed a GPX editor.
Well, the word "editor" is followed with an asterisk that I missed, and no editing functionality exists. Bad advertising. Useless to me. Yes, I failed to read the fine print. Can't understand why the author calls it a GPX editor when it isn't.
Developer Response ,
Hi SeattleGlen, thanks for your review. Just wanted to make clear the app name has always been GPX Viewer and not Editor. The intro line mentions editing since Waypoints, Route Points and some meta data can be edited. If you know a beter way of advertising this functionality, feel free to let me know. I'll look for a better description, too.
Nice idea, poor execution
This app does what It says, but not very well. Search function is pretty unreliable, returning limited results with no context making it impossible to know if you are picking the right way option. No location categories or pin options... Don't waste your money unless you need the cloud support.
Does what I need it to
This app is working well for what I needed: a way to mark/pin locations on maps to remember them in the future and share the info across iDevices. I appreciate the search function using the map "displayed" as a reference instead of the world = makes adding nearby/similar locations quick. And, appreciate the ability to backup the data (Dropbox in this case).
There are a few improvements that would be helpful: 1) more color choices for the PINs; 2) an option to move the "Create Map" to the bottom instead of the top; 3) ability to move PINs from one map to another; 4) ability to "manually map" a route connecting multiple PINs; 5) fixing the crashing of the app from time to time when adding many PINs and swapping b/w different maps.
It is one of my key apps now. Thank you to the developer!
