The advanced audio file player application equipped 4 decks & 16 pads sampler.
Each individual 4 deck has basic functions such as ‘Auto Pause’ and ‘Repeat’ which are essential for play backing on stage performances, as well as advanced features like ‘Auto Cue Search’, ‘Skip End’ and ‘Auto Fadeout’ those will help users to focusing their operations.
The SamplePad has total 16 pads for play ( 2 Bank / each 8 Pads ). Each pad has 2 play mode of ‘SHOT’ and ‘LOOP’, these can respond flexibly against on demanded operations.
Every playback equipments on PlayBacker can be assigned output route and channels independently, and can accept user customization of keyboard shortcut or MIDI message assigning against some main features.
‘TrackList Document’ holds all informations about a sequence, users can prepare operation quickly anytime by open stored document. In addition by built in ’Track Editor’, users can put detailed editing of custom cue points or gain etc on tracks.
PlayBacker will perfectly supports user’s audio playback works from preparation to production.

Track name editing on Player / Deck has become available.
The feature mounted at deck's 'CueList Mode'. A 'title edit button' was added on upper part of the CueList Mode view, and it will make text field of track title on cuelist table editable.
■ Change : 'Export to trackList…' moved to 'File' menu
The Player has a feature that can export current Player status to TrackList document, and user can trigger the function by 'File > Export > as TrackList' menu item.
The feature will be activated only while the Player Window is active as main window.

Update for Optimizing to new macOS 26 Tahoe and Liquid Grass interface.
■ Deck :
‘Current Track Selector’ has moved to “Play / Pause Button” from Next button. The change has done for increasing consistency of playback operation.
To show ‘Current Track Selector’ : long press the Play/Pause button while ‘having selector mark’ appears. This feature will be enabled while deck’s cue list is not visible.
A user selected track will be loaded immediately.
■ Track Editor ( in trackList window ) :
‘move to start cue button’ and ‘move to end cue button’ have added at cue position setting buttons area ( right bottom part of view ).
■ MIDI features update :
- Bug Fix : An issue the app became not able to receive MIDI messages when Preferences window has closed by ‘Cancel’ operation was solved.
- Bug Fix : An issue when using some MIDI devices having multi Port - the app may receive repetition MIDI messages was solved.
- Change : related with bug fix mentioned above, the app will be connected only with a ‘Main Port’ of external device.
The ‘Main Port’ will be confirmed in ‘Audio MIDI Setting.app’. ‘Main Port’ will be shown at the top of the list of device’s port list.
There will be no effects from this change if you had been using any external devices with no problem.
- Added : MIDI Device Selector
User can choose specific device receiving MIDI messages only from it.
- Added : MIDI Trigger Bank Selector
User can store 3 MIDI trigger map and switch them depending on playback situation.

The maintenance update optimizing to latest version of macOS and some useful features have added.
■ ‘MONO Summing’ feature has added to Deck.
■ ‘Not Set’ has available for audio output setting of equipments. Route will follows ‘default output’ of device in this case.
■ ‘Font Size’ change of cue lists has been more flexible. ‘Player window’ or ‘TrackList window’ whether one currently be main window will respond the ‘Font Size Up’ or ‘Down’ command from Window Menu > Font Size menu items.
■ ‘Gain Edit’ of equipment loaded tracks has improved. Mini track gain edit panel will be appeared by row action of cue list with swipe left and click ‘edit button’, or click the gain edit button at below of Play Button. ( editing track gain feature will be available when user make active the ‘Follows track gain’ in preferences.)
■ Some improvements of user interface for more usability.

■ Serious Fix ■
On recent few macOS / some devices there was an issue that, output route of all PlayBacker equipments forced to changed to selected output when the System Settings > Sound > Output was changed by user action or automatically.
For example this case is occur by plug-in / out of built in Headphone port with automatically.
In this version of PlayBacker, this problem was fixed. Thus we recommend this time update for all users.
*) although an issue fixed, small gap time (noise or mute) of device change still occurs. please take care of careless operations.

Users can customize Deck’s CueList font size for get more visibility of cues.

Brand new file type across the series has been added. It makes enable sharing a sequence over device / OS versions by only single file. And the optimizations against macOS Monterey has been made.
■ New File Type : PlayBacker File Package
A document of PlayBacker File Package type is including not only TrackList / PadList data but also actual audio files which are referenced by each tracks. This file can be open by PlayBacker application on other devices without re assigning the audio files, and moreover by iOS version PlayBacker series !! ( ver.3.1.2 or later )
Now it is extremely easy for sharing or open same sequence over another devices / OS for backup or sync play.
New file type can be exported from existing default type : TrackList Document.
■ Other Changes
- Optimization agains macOS Monterey has been made.
- ‘LOAD’ swipe row action was added to Deck-cueList / CueList Mode tables.
- ‘Key Indicator’ was added on Player Window. It indicates whether the Player Window is active and can accept user actions like keyboard shortcut.

- The issue that, when the current track was also assigned as next track, go next track command couldn't work exactly, has solved.

■ It became enabled to fix height of decks minimum per upper / lower decks.
■ The current track selector has been removed. The feature is included in the ‘Next Button’.

□ Deleting a track function has added as row action : swipe to left.

□ The action of single click to set Next Track has been removed. Use swipe to right gesture instead.
# SamplePad
■ Gain adjustment at the building time of tracks was removed. Gain of tracks will be set ‘0 db’ as default no matter where the track was generated.
# TrackList Window
■ The functions for track managements like 'Add Tracks' or 'Load to Player' are gathered in newly added Toolbar. Almost operations would be done via Toolbar no matter which target of tracks are.
■ Track Gain : Available range is improved. Users can adjust track gain with 0.1db unit from -60db to +6db.
■ Track Gain : Customize methods are improved. Users can enter numbers directly in the fields, or can use Pan gesture when the field is selected.
■ The font size of lists can be expanded in 3 steps.
■ Gain Normalize function has added to TrackEditor.

#) Caution !
Currently we recognize the problem that, on macOS Mojave (10.14), table views of 'TrackList document' and 'Deck: CueList Mode' are not respond to drag & drop of multiple rows. This not seems to causing application crash but we do the treatment of below.
* On macOS Mojave (10.14), table views of above mentioned are disabled dragging multiple rows.
Apologize for inconvenience but please forgive it for safety running of the application.
On previous OS, there are no problems around these and multiple drag & drop is available as before.

Adopting to Shot / Loop play mode and make playback operations more flexible.
- Customizable End Cue -
User can customize the finish playback point of a track now. End Cue is settable in Track Editor.
- Extra Time Counter -
The window for display only which indicates elapsed time focused informations. User can present informations of deck’s current status with use of another external display, to another section.
- Track Title Option -
The option settable in preferences window, which is naming generated track by its audio file name instead of metadata value.
- Specification Changes for Keyboard Shortcuts -
Users can enable for using key combination with modifier keys to keyboard shortcuts of control functions now.
Unset also available from this version. To do so, simply delete a key for function in preferences window.

Improvement of CPU usage.
With readjustment of interface redraw rate and audio rendering process, PlayBacker needs more lighter load for CPU. By this improvement the issue that sometimes track change of deck caused to gapping of another deck was solved.
Deck's cueing behavior was changed.
From this version the timing for set cue-point of deck changed to “Mouse-Up”. Though while playing, playback wiper follows dragging and playback point will be set when mouse upped within waveform area. Cancel cueing is also available with mouse-up outside.
Indication of “current time / start cue time” in Track Editor.
Adds playback current time / start cue time indication to Track Editor in TrackList window. Setting operation of the start cue points became clearer.
Small bug fix and several interface parts change were also done.

optimizing issues
On Retina Display mac, the process of reading audio files for register new tracks has been improved faster. Now PlayBacker works more comfortably on Retina Display model Mac.
The issue of “Track Editor”, sync of the waveform view and playback sound was out in case the track has long duration time, has been fixed.
