Logic Grid Puzzles 4+

One and done

Mostly great puzzles. A few duds because there is no way to solve other than guess and carry out different scenarios. But those are only a few. My biggest disappointment is that once they’re solved, you cannot “save” the puzzle and work it again. You can’t even LOOK at your solved puzzles. Only choice in the “solved puzzles” link is to select them and discard the ones you selected. I suppose that appeases some players ego that want to delete the ones they got hints on so as to have a “perfect” record. For those of us who don’t really care about the stats, just enjoy solving logic puzzles, it’s pointless. I always thought I would be able to replay puzzles I PAID FOR. But instead, I have paid for packages that had puzzles I already solved included. I get it. They want the gravy train to keep sucking money out of my wallet. But they would get that with NEW puzzles anyway. I’m just a bit soured by the fact they take away my opportunity to solve puzzles I paid for more than once.

Having said that, it would be nice if there were packages with just expert/challenging level puzzles. Hard core logic problem solvers bore easily with having to purchase bulk easy puzzles (like 60-80 of them) to the 20-40 challenging ones.

Thanks! Some great comments there. Some explanations: If we wanted a "gravy train" then we wouldn't let people clear puzzles and play them again at all. Clearing a puzzle doesn't just clear the stats for the badges (note, use Zen mode to hide those), but it also puts them back into the queue to play again (and again, and again). This applies to puzzles you've paid for as well. So you CAN play puzzles over and over, without paying more. No gravy train here. Should you be able to see completed puzzles just to look at them again? Maybe. We've argued about this internally many times. Indeed, our Acrostics app *does* allow this. Hmm... pros and cons. Now, re package pricing. We used to break out puzzle sizes & difficulties and charge $2.99 per bundle of similar size (~60 easy or ~30 hard per bundle). To keep things simple, we just combined them - but kept the price the same. I.e. dealers choice. Play just the hard, or just the easy, or ... maybe both (easy on a phone and hard on a tablet perhaps). No extra charge for both. Last but most importantly, you should never (ever ever) have to guess. If you think you need to, get a Smart Hint, and it will examine the board, look at the clues and tell you what the next logical step is. Best logic puzzle game!

I love logic puzzles and I’ve tried all of the ones currently available in the App Store. This one is by far the best! It has a simple, non distracting interface; I like that the clues are displayed all at once in a list form (in some logic puzzle apps, the clues appear one at a time and that’s sluggish and annoying). It’s easy to cross off the clues you already solved. The puzzle grid is on a separate “page” but is easily accessible with a swipe up or swipe down. I’m still on the free version of this app and there are still many left to do at all different levels. The levels are challenging and fun. Once my free puzzles are solved, I’m going to subscribe to access more.

In short, if you love logic puzzles that are fun and challenging, and you like an attractive, intuitive, non distracting interface, you should down load this app. I’ve tried them all and I highly recommend this one to be your main logic puzzle app. It is truly the best one in the store!

Another upgrade messing things up

Since your recent upgrade, (1) I cannot restore purchases. I’ve tried more than once now, and (2) it is unclear if it ever connected and worked on restoring them - looked like nothing happened. I have been paying monthly for a long time. But the app is showing only solved puzzles. (3) Also, the app has been incredibly difficult to open. Multiple times, it has frozen up and them closed without ever opening. (4) The first time it finally opened since the upgrade, it did not show the option to restore purchase. (5) I am about to cancel my subscription but am giving a little more time. But if I cancel it before you get to it, don’t come back and say I don’t have one. I did at the time I tried all this, and I’ve had one a few years by now.
(The rest is about the last upgrade debacle which did get addressed. I’m leaving it, though, since there have been upgrade problems more than once.)
Please get rid of the pop up scenario/story that you added recently. It is obnoxious and sometimes hangs up before it closes. Also, the entire puzzle doesn’t load as well and also hangs up when closing. It seems you relied on rookie programming all of a sudden to change a product that used to work fine.

Hi, if the app is only showing solved puzzles, then please be sure to tap on the "Puzzles" tab at the bottom. From there, tap on "Unlimited" near the top (below the badges if you have them enabled) and all your subscriptions puzzles should be there (including the 4000 puzzles added a couple of months ago).If you need any help at all, please email support@eggheadgames.com and we'll respond promptly, including a refund if you're not happy! I agree that the "Story" for the puzzle is mostly useful for new players and can be redundant and annoying after a while. Maybe only showing it automatically for the first few puzzles solved would be better? FYI, the purpose of moving it from its old spot above the clues was to make it easier to quickly scroll back to the start of the clues, without having to then scroll down from the story. Like every change though, there are often unintended side effects and more adjustments are sometimes required. I'll get to work on that.

The hang when closing the puzzle is concerning and I'd love to understand that more so I can fix it. (E.g. which device?, how many puzzles are available / solved?).
