We have the Cleverdog cameras for many years to watch our dog when we are not home and to verify it was the dog that somehow triggered the motion sensor sometimes and not an actual intruder. We loved the Cleverdog app until recently, where it’s impossible to take a quick look at my goofy dog without watching a series of ads first. I would have been fine if it was only banner ads on half a screen. Also, the ‘Wipe SD card’ option is no longer working in the app. This app is now a mess….

This used to be a great camera and not so great but at least functional app, and similar to some of the other reviewers I’ve had mine and used it for years. In the last few months there has been an update and now it’s sooo spammy, I’m honestly a little nervous to have the camera on in my house bc it doesn’t feel like any efforts been put into the app and who knows what kind of hackers are on there. As another reviewer mentioned you have to click through at least 5 ads now every time you open the app back up. And the ads are the type that make you watch a full screen video before the “x” even shows up to get out of it! And they make you go through all of them in a row before you get to the app. When I finally get to the home page my device constantly says “not connected” now. However it is still connected and if I refresh while on my home WiFi I can stream the camera to my phone. However as soon as my phone is disconnected from the same WiFi as the camera it stops working! Which is the time I need it the most, I don’t need to look in on my pets while I’m home! Lastly I tried deleting my device and reinstalling thinking that might solve the problem. Nope, it literally won’t let me delete the device when I click the “button” nothing happens. I tried updating the WiFi but it’s still the same. What a mess, I’m so disappointed. :(But wait, there’s more! I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Still nothing works. I tried clicking on the “help” button thinking maybe something in there. No, when I click “help” it says “No connection” (which isn’t true). Finally I thought I’d message support. I filled out their questionnaire and when I clicked the “submit” button it said failed to send!!!! So they must just be completely gone under. Ddaannggg iitttt.

We have used Clever dog for years to check on our adult disabled son when we have to leave him alone. He is able to stay alone but we just like to be able to visually check on him. All of a sudden we no longer get the video feed we are getting games they want us to download. You X out of one and another appears and then it just keeps dumping us into Apps to purchase. This is now useless to us and we will have to look for another way to see him. We have tried restarting our phones and reinstalling the app with no fix. Any idea what is going on?! Prior to this we loved using this product.

I really love this camera and app! I have a few issues of going from a color screen to a black and white screen but I don’t really mind that too much. I have been having a bad issue that I cannot read any messages sent to me because the message stops at the edge of the ‘page’. When I turn the phone to read the full statement, the message does not turn so I cannot read the message. Very frustrating as I am unsure if the message is of great importance! If anyone can help, let me know! Otherwise, this is great to keep an eye on my babies!
