It’s $5 when most OCR software is at least $50 or $100. If you’re looking to save time retyping a long document, it’s value for money. But it really struggles with underlined text, returning gibberish or nothing in my test. The output is unformatted text with one line per paragraph. In other words, be ready for some serious formatting work in Word. But with a reasonably clean scan, the accuracy was quite high. Worth $5? Yeah.

This program is very good at pulling text from PDFs. It will make a few mistakes now and then, especially with complex things like scientific notation (like chemical formula) but it sure as heck beats having to re-type the entire document. I have used it to re-vitalize old labs etc. that are great but need a little newer twist to them or need to be converted to use in a digital world. This will do it. Good work lads!

I bought this very low cost APP to convert one pdf document, converted from a jpg photo, to text. I just dragged to the open APP, it asked me where I wanted to save the converted text, and then converted every word immediately and exactly. This was a great purchase versus re-typing the document.
