2-1 helps to teach children how to subtract numbers from 1 to 10. The app doesn't use any words, so it can be used by children in any language. The app has been tested by teachers — you will find the references inside the app, under "references".
This is the Lite version: the first three games of every level are free. If you like the app, one single in-app purchase unlocks all nine games — a one-time purchase, and it works with Family Sharing.
The app has eight levels, from BEGINNER to INSANE. Each level has nine games, its own tasks and its own trophy — 72 games and eight trophies in all. The levels up to HARD already cover all 45 subtraction tasks from 1 to 10; CHAMPION and INSANE are an extra challenge on top.

This means that a task comes back until the child answers it correctly. The app also remembers every task the child has ever got wrong and brings it back later; in the two highest levels, part of every game is drawn from that list. This is how the answers stay in the child's memory, so real learning happens.
If the child answers all the tasks of a game correctly, the game is finished, and the next game opens only when the score is high enough. Every game can earn up to three stars. To earn the third star, the child has to play the game again, this time without the help of the animals.

Please note that our apps are real educational apps, made, among others, for the classroom and for homework. In our apps the education is more important than fun. Our apps are more like doing homework than playing a game, so finishing them can be some work for a child. It might be helpful if the parents or teachers support the child's motivation. The reward for the work is that the child will master all subtraction tasks up to 10 without any problems.

The first update since 2015: 2-1 has been rebuilt for today's iPhones and iPads. It still works entirely without words, so children of any language can use it.
• Fits every screen. The game fills the display on all current iPhones and iPads, in the right proportions.
• Eight stages, from BEGINNER to INSANE. Each stage has its own nine games, its own equations and its own cup — from the green cup up to the diamond and the amethyst one.
• Several children can play. Every player has a name on the start screen and keeps their own progress, and easy, medium or hard can be set for each child.
• Better practice. The app now keeps a record for every equation and brings back what is not yet safe, so weak spots come up more often.
• The animals move. All nine animals walk across the meadow, and the counting row shows silhouettes and bushes instead of red crosses.
• A real celebration. Confetti, balloons, sparklers and rockets when a cup is won.
• Small things. A parental gate in front of every link that leaves the app, a reset that really clears everything, a new sound for a right answer, and a new app icon.
