『ごみマップ』は、全国の河川におけるゴミ量の調査をオンライン上で発信出来る仕組みです。 私たちが何気なく捨てたゴミは、流域から川へ、上流から下流へ、川から海へと長い距離を移動します。そして海へと出たゴミは、国内の海岸に漂着したり、海を漂流し国外の海岸に漂着するものもあります。それらのゴミが海洋生物等に与えている悪影響は、世界的な問題となっています。 河川ゴミの実態を社会に発信すること、またその取り組みに関わることで、河川利用者のマナーが向上し、河川ゴミの発生抑制につながる事を期待しています。
