MWC Series App 4+

Spent at least an hour or two going over the schedule, favoriting things to make the massive schedule more manageable, then after an update they were all wiped! Super disappointing to have to do that again.

There are two massive bugs which make this app unusable.

1) When you register for MWC, the form requires you to enter your address, but it forces you to use an invalid address format that does not exist in the USA. Specifically, “House Number” is a required field after you enter the street address. You cannot leave this field blank, you cannot enter valid text like “Suite” or “Unit”, etc. You also cannot enter alpha-numeric characters, so if your “house number” is A or 23C, etc, you’re out of luck.

2) That then causes a second bug. When you enter your credit card information, since the app forces you to use an invalid address format, credit card payment fails because the address on the form does not match the address on file with the credit card company.

Perhaps the app works if you have a address that also has a “house number,” in addition to your street address.

A lot of app for little value. Beyond requiring the app for entry into the event, the App’s functionality is limited and navigation is lacking. There is a lot of effort and work put into the application, but uncovering the value of it all is difficult. Would be great to see all of this pushed to a native web environment where there is less gate keeping and more universal appeal. Will it be a challenge? Most certainly. Will it be worth it in the long run? Absolutely.
