Simple and Effective

This app is great just because it reliably does what it says, without any crazy frills. I have the iPhone/Apple Watch Version and the MacOS version. I like being able to see the time in the top bar. It is also nice to be able to edit the structure of the pomodoros. I made it so it is 4, 30 minute sections, so at the end of a set I know I worked 2 hours (which seems nicer to me). Overall, a good, functional app.

Works lIke a charm

Does what it's supposed to (although I do wish there was an optional dropdown menu to change the time intervals)

Developer Response ,

You can configure the timer intervals for work/break periods in the preferences screen. You can save different configurations as Timer Profiles and switch between them.

Really cool, if only it did a few more things

The implementatoin is really nice. I love the visual countdown (one of the only ones that had this), though I was sorry that there was not a “ding” sound to alert me. Also, it keeps seeming like it goes from one 25 minute block to another 25 minute block .. am I imagining this? I would have to wait 25 minutes to check again … but it seemed like that several times. But if those were fixed, then I would give it 5 stars. And I have not tried the handoff to iPhone feature yet, but it’s pretty brilliant.

Developer Response ,

The app uses standard Mac notifications to alert you when each period starts. If you aren't seeing notifications or hearing a sound, please check the app's notification settings in the 'Notifications' section of Apple's System Preferences app and that the system alert sound is not set to zero volume in the 'Sound' section. Another problem could be that you have 'Do Not Disturb' enabled. That will stop notifications for all apps from appearing.

The timer definitely moves between work and breaks, but if you're not seeing/hearing notifications you can easily miss a break. You can change the lengths of work/break periods in Pommie's preference screen to test this with shorter periods or create different groups of timer settings (what I call Timer Profiles) for different kinds of tasks.
