Svampguiden+ is one of the most comprehensive digital mushroom guides in the Nordic countries, created in collaboration with mycologist Michael Krikorev. All species descriptions and photos in the app are provided by Michael, a trained biologist at the Swedish Species Information Centre (SLU Artdatabanken) in Uppsala. He has written several acclaimed mushroom books, leads mushroom courses and foraging excursions, and runs svampguiden.com – Sweden's most visited mushroom website. That means the information you rely on out in the woods is written by a real expert – not generated by AI.
Here is a selection of the features:
* Identify your finds with the help of your camera, image recognition and AI – completely offline. You can get ID suggestions even deep in the woods without an internet connection (requires iOS 15 or later).
* More than 200 species described and illustrated with over 1,200 photos, including links to similar and easily confused species – all available offline.
* Available in both Swedish and English. The app automatically follows your iPhone's language, and you can change it at any time in your iPhone Settings.
* Educational videos featuring Michael Krikorev and Helena Björnström introducing selected species and showing you how to recognize them.
* Filter species by their characteristics and use the classic mushroom key to help with identification.
* Test your knowledge with the built-in mushroom quiz and learn more about wild mushrooms.
* Save your favorite foraging spots using your iPhone's built-in GPS and Maps, making it easy to find them again. Add photos and notes, and share your locations by email or SMS.
* Automatically sync your favorites and foraging spots across your devices using iCloud.
* Import and export your saved locations in GPX format, supported by many GPS devices and apps.
* Easily transfer your saved favorites and foraging spots from Svampguiden Classic.

Svampguiden+ is a guide, not a guarantee. Never eat a wild mushroom on the app's word alone — no description, photo or edibility label can tell you that a mushroom is safe for you. Let an experienced person or a mushroom consultant confirm the species first. The AI gives you suggestions, not answers: image recognition can confuse species, including mistaking a poisonous mushroom for an edible one. There are over 10,000 mushrooms in the Nordic countries and no image library covers them all. Svampguiden+, the companies behind it, and its developers take no responsibility for harm resulting from misidentification.
