I just updated to the latest version and upgraded to Pro. When I select “Detailed Statistics“ the app crashes. Also, when I export data to CSV it outputs the data in Metric despite having Imperial Units selected in the settings. Otherwise the app works well. It would be nice to have a backup to the cloud option.

Three separate things and all worth reporting. The crash and the export ignoring the imperial setting were both real; the statistics screen has been rebuilt since. Cloud backup exists now — signing in syncs your records to your account, so a new phone restores them. If the export still comes out metric for you, Settings › Help and Feedback and we'll chase it.

I really liked this app until I got a new iPhone. Using iTunes I restored the new iPhone with the backup from the old phone. In addition to FuelTracker, I had a number of third party apps. All of them transferred to the new phone including their data except for FuelTracker. When I opened all the other apps it was just like using the old phone. When I opened FuelTracker it was as if I had just bought the app, the screen prompted me to list an auto. I contacted FuelTracker but received no help. Other reviews indicate that this is a problem when setting up a new phone. The app simply does not retain the data. I’m surprise that Apple allows selling this app without a disclaimer warning you about this problem. What a piece of junk!

Your diagnosis was right: every other app came across in the iTunes restore and this one did not, because its data was not stored in a way the backup carried. That was a design failure, not a quirk. Signing in now syncs records to your account and a new phone restores them from there. Contacting support and getting no help made it worse, and there is no excuse for that either.

Honestly love this app. It’s one of the few that I found that will allow for the tracking of my odo in km and fill ups in gallons as I live in the US and own an imported vehicle. The best part is that it’s SIMPLE and doesn’t have too many features like the other apps which makes me frustrated. I am only giving 3 stars because a lot of things feel unpolished and need some tuning up. I’m slowly adding entries from my manual log I’ve been keeping for the last 2ish years but am hesitant to continue after reading other user complaints of lost data.

The data-loss reports you read were real, and they came from the years when everything lived only on the device. That's the part that changed: signing in syncs your records to your account, so a lost or replaced phone doesn't take the log with it. Mixed units — km odometer with gallon fill-ups — stay supported, since that's why you picked it. Thanks for the straight assessment.
Loved it, until I needed to export the data

I got a new phone and discovered that the only options for transferring the data was to either manually re-enter all the data or use the export CSV option. I reluctantly paid the $5.99 (really? ...for a glorified excel spreadsheet?) and then spent about 30 minutes repeatedly importing the file into the app because it kept marking all the refills as “partial” so it wasn’t calculating the average mpg (the whole reason I had the app). So, I’m out $6, about an hour total since trying to sort this out, and 1.5 years of careful data collection so I can track my car’s fuel efficiency... and I’m back at square 1.

Paying to get your own data out, then having every imported fill-up marked as partial so the averages never computed — that is two failures compounding, and you lost an hour and a year and a half of data to them. The import bug was real. The larger fix is that the export is no longer the way to move phones: records sync to your account and restore on the new device. Sorry for all of it.
