Aslamlkeum. I have been on this Salams app and other app, MuzMatch app for more than 6 years. Now, I have found someone who is so amazing, sincere, kind, humble, beautiful, and many other words that I cannot express enough to describe her, but all I can say is that naseeb bring us together by the way of Allah SWT, and I am so grateful forever. My friendly advice for all of you who have been on this app(s), sabr is the main key to getting a successful match and keep praying tahajjud as long as you can with sincerity, I am sure you will find someone to get married with. I have been praying tahajjud for months and alhamduiallh, I was not expected at all when I got matched, and then we kept talking for months leading to marriage. All I can say is that I am extremely grateful to Allah SWT for bringing her to me because she is so much more than my dream woman. In conclusion, I wish you guys all the best on your endeavors and have sabr (patience). Please take care and always be thankful of Allah SWT. On the final note, this app is genuine, useful, has great features, many good potential matches, and finally, I believe this is the part where it is important to be truthful what you put on your profile leading to get a good match. Although I liked new features such as personality types, it would helpful to be able to filter by personality type and other things such as love languages or even if they are gold/platinum/etc. members. For some people who take personality types, we have an idea of who we might me compatible with and could be a good place to start. It’s good to have in mind when going through profiles and have more nuanced filters that can inshallah help us find a spouse. If we already paying, I would like to narrow down my pool by people that might be more compatible! Also please consider a ranking feature (for self) where we can sort through matches and profiles to help us categorize profiles we like and interested in. Having a long list of swipes makes it hard to figure out what we would like and potential people we would like to match with. I feel like the telegram feature doesn’t really work and I would like to find/match with people who are also active and actively looking for someone. This is why I mostly swipe on other people who are also playing for gold/platinum/etc. since it shows there more likely to be on the app. Overall, I know there’s people who are serious about marriage and people always saying they can’t seem to find serious/active people, so a feature where we can connect with others who are more active would be helpful, especially since we’re paying a lot to have more features!!!

Major functionality was changed for version 11.0, which for some reason is not reflected in the release notes. App was working perfectly before the version 11.0, so I don’t understand the change. The UI for profiles moved the basic information about a potential match such as ethnicity, height, martial status, etc. to the bottom of the page, which is impractical. Also the ability to review profiles that were liked, passed, and the ability to favorite have been removed, which I find to be a major change. So you are not able to send a “Note” anymore for any liked profiles, if you decide to take a more affirmative action for a potential spouse. And the removal of passed profiles make it so that if you decide you actually want to match with a person you passed is no longer an option. Favorites were also useful if you have a lot of likes and want to organize them. The new version also truncated the “about me” narrative descriptions and I don’t see the version 11.0.1 attempted to fix this issue. I assume you just have to retype it because the data was loss during the upgrade. I see there is something on the UI about a Diamond subscription but of course it doesn’t line up with the actual subscriptions available (Gold, Platinum). Overall I am disappointed with the practicality and quality of this new version.

I met my husband on Salaam around the last week of Ramadan of 2020, May. I remember being so mindful of Laylatul Qudr night and praying to Allah to guide me and I kid you not, I had the feeling it was time to go on the app. That week I started speaking to my husband. Because of COVID and the beginning stages of the city lockdown, we spoke for weeks until towards the end of June of 2020 we decided to meet in the only dine in restaurant at the time, which was the park lol. We continued speaking, in July we met one more time. By August we were engaged and my October 10, 2020 we were married. It was not an easy experience, but using the app was very straight forward. I liked the ability to have the various filters to make the process less chaotic or confusing when coming across various people. I believe there was a blurring of my image option which is a nice plus for females. Now yes the app was the vehicle that helped me find my husband, but those looking for a spouse make sure you keep Allah as your guide and not lose sight of Him, if you want to find your his or her.

Day one of using the app I’ve noticed it’s super glitchy. Took me quite a few attempts to write my profile because it wouldn’t save at times and sometimes just freeze up. Other times I would finish typing several paragraphs saving it and going back to find nothing was ever saved. So after finishing up my profile finally I went in to the search option to find some potential matches. It’s got the industry standard swipe left/heart or heart react vs X. So you can only filter your search for free based on age, distance or faith sect. All the other filters are a premium option. So once someone likes your profile, you can’t see who they are until you upgrade to a premium option. At least some of the other apps only charge for certain things like messaging after you receive several free messages. I’m not against paying for a good service but for the love of god give me something to work with. 1: glitchy app 2: not many filters offered for free 3: can’t see who wants to chat with you. All in an all I’m not impressed with the app and not sold to upgrade. Hopefully the developers for this app can take a long hard look at their model because I honestly wanted to like this app at first. Also some of the question choices for the profile are super lame like what do you think of pineapple on pizza? My pandemic hobby? Like come on guys get with the times the pandemic is over.

The new update is horrendous. I was speaking with a potential person and after the update they disappeared (not sure if they unmatched or what but there is no way for me to find out). Also I had a diamond subscription for 3 months and after the update, this app doesn’t recognize my membership (I have proof as well). Also after following the FAQ prompt to “manage the subscription” it brings up an error message. It’s keeps telling me to try again later. Honestly, before, I liked the fact that this app had a call option so you didn’t have to share your cellphone number and it was easier to navigate. We were also able to see if someone had unmatched you or so. This new update is not helpful and user friendly at all and someone really needs to work on this (before you start losing your customers). A suggestion for the app: there should be a way for you people to delete a profile if someone has not used it for a long time (even though these members should deactivate their profile). But there should be some form of algorithm and process to screen out and help the community (who is actually trying to engage and find someone).** I am still waiting on customer service to get back to me in regard to my membership and this technical issue I keep experiencing.

Perhaps the app developers are trying to make it look like millions of people use it every day and that probably is not the case. I’ve used this app for many years now and many accounts has always seemed a bit weird looking, not the pictures, I’m talking about how some of the accounts/profiles are structured or created. Most seem like they’re either fake, or most people who use it are either not seriously interested in getting married and trying to just spend time here when they’re bored, or they’re just promoting their Instagram or Snapchat accounts, now days could be promoting their TikTok accounts. The free version of the app gives you about 90-95% LESS features than the paid version, which means you definitely have to pay to even be in the game, NOT WORTH PAYING MONEY!! I would not waste a single dime on these apps, but it’s up to you to decide that. Also, there’s very little Islamic values/deen priorities going on here, so if you are looking for someone into Islam and Deen, you are better off relying on your mom arranging an arrange marriage for you !!

Asalaamu Alaykum ,The tool is a nice level of quality with some of the same tendencies. Maybe needs more space for expressing preferences and commitment level. Large amount of Pakistani/Somali communities but many other representations from all over the world. Beware of generational prejudice despite attraction /connection & difficult conversations. Possibilities will be plenty, intentions + personalities just have to match. Found someone of interest. Her parents want her to marry someone from her culture and her culture ONLY regardless of being Muslim . In Islam- a man can represent himself and an Imam May override the opinion of a father IF there is no valid reason. The girl may not be for me but either way this app gave me the opportunity to observe and have conversations with beautiful, intelligent and ambitious muslimina sisters who inspired me to be better. Wont be back on because the world is growing to be a place ppl feel dependent & most comfortable with a keyboard between them and other people. The race. Delete restart delete restart delete restart. As Muslims it’s really surprising to see how money hungry this app has gotten. It’s like they have no intent of actually helping Muslims find their spouse. I’ve had a better experience of talking to people on non Muslim apps like hinge. The issue is that they have gotten so money hungry. Ever since they introduced the boosts my friends and I have noticed that if you’re not using a boost no one ever sees you and likes you. The price for premium exponentially goes up and never fully works. Half of this month of my premium subscription I wasn’t able to see the guys that liked me and I had to open multiple cases where they just said they’re working on it. Also ever since my premium subscription ended I get notifications to get on premium all the time and I saw the wildest notification that basically said spend $7.99 to see the top 3 people that liked you. I thought that was insane. Lastly, I don’t like how anyone can see me, it should follow our dealbreakers. I always have 45+ year old men liking me and I don’t want to go on stealth mode and lower my chances of finding someone. Also the dealbreakers should follow through on speed dating, there’s no reason for me to be talking to someone for 5 minutes without the chance to skip if they don’t meet my dealbreakers.
