The Letus Helix app is designed to be a simple and intuitive way of changing settings on the Letus Double Helix, Helix Pro, Standard Helix, and Helix Jr. Many settings from the SimpleBGC GUI (PC/Mac-based configuration program) have been eliminated, because those settings are only needed to work with other gimbals or are rarely used. Additional tools to help the user have been created to assist the user in their use of the Helix.
Connection with the Helix is done as follows:
1) Turn the Helix on
2) Go to the Home screen on your iPhone/iPad.
3) Find Settings -> Wi-Fi and select your Letus Helix.
4) Enter the wifi password found in the app help files (found by pressing the info button on the app's main menu).
5) Once it connects in iOS, you can go to the app and press the connect button.

When you open the app and click the “i” information icon it literally says “the current version of this app (1.5.0) is compatible with firmware versions 2.43 to 2.69”My helix jr is running firmware 2.43b and the app will not work with the gimbal. When you launch the app it detects the helix wifi and lets you enter password and it reads what firmware you have installed before prompting you that in fact the app won’t work with the firmware. These gimbals are not cheap. There is no way to calibrate the gimbal with the app.

We've had 3 Helixes with various cameras so far and the fine tune control Letus provides with the app makes the Helix even better. Changes we made eliminated motor buzzing and helped stabilize our rigs even more.

- More profile information is stored in the app. This allows additional features to be accessed now and in future versions.
- Firmware version 2.69 is supported by this version. Note that we do not recommend upgrading to this version unless your Helix was shipped with it or you have a specific feature that you need from that firmware version.
- Joystick can be calibrated automatically on the RC/joystick page.
- Eliminated orientation/calibration screen and moved most important functionality into the System screen
- Eliminated Menu Button screen and moved most important functionality into the System screen
- Eliminated Set PID values screen, since it has been replaced with the Initial Setup screen
- Roll rotation (on Motion Control screen) has been upgraded slightly

- Added an initial setup wizard, that allows news users to input their camera model and information on accessory locations to come up with initial PID and power settings.
- Added a fine tuning screen (based on and accessed through the initial setup wizard) that helps users troubleshoot any remaining issues with PID and power settings.
- Added a Show Experimental Features switch (accessible through iOS settings) that allows users to try beta features that are usable, but not fully developed yet.

- Motion analysis screen (beta/experimental) added. This page allows the user to record a short section of motion and then view it on a graph. Data may be sent to Letus and a smoothness rating is given to rate the smoothness of the motion on that axis.
- Restore system screen added. This allows the user to store all system settings and calibrations (EEPROM) to the iOS device and restore them at a later date.
- Due to iOS 13 limitations, the app no longer checks the name of the Wi-Fi network that it is connected to make sure the user is connected to a Helix instead of another network.
